I've been on contact with
cleanyourcar.co.uk and have managed to get a 20% discount on the snow foam lances from them. Thanks to everyone from the
previous topic.
Take a look at the productAt the checkout, enter the code:
foam-lance on the checkout page, and it will apply 20% discount to your basket.
I've tested this and it also works on the shampoo too.
If anyone can recommend the best shampoo that would be good, I'm unsure if I get the standard one or the Meguiars one?

I have been using a chamois to dry my car and have heard microfibre drying towels are alot better and give much better results.
Can anyone recommended what drying towel i should buy or what do you use to dry your car?
Thanks

OK, newbie on this forum, so please go easy on me....
Recently aquired this late 2003 316 ti SE compact at a very good price, and it's the first BMW I've ever owned, although it's going to be mainly used by my wife.
However, whilst it's a very nice car, it has'nt had an easy life since the previous owner (my Auntie) had it serviced by BMW since new, she never washed or vaccumed it out, so it was out with the Autoglym.
Sadly, I just couldn't get the paint to shine as it should, the swirl marks and scratches were still there...
So drastic action was called for, which involved a visit to Clean Your Car in Slaithwaite, and spending ££££ on a load of Menzerna and Prima polish, and a DAP 850 polisher.
Wow, this made all the difference, a sparkly as new Beemer, and a very happy wife!!!
A few piccies of the results..

Turd may be a bit hard on my poor car but latley iv gotten very disheartend with it,, u know how it is getting it keyed and people slamming their doors into it and it now has a scuff on every feckin corner,,,,
But today i woke up at stupid o'clock (5am) once brekkie was done and id watched telly for a an hour i was at my wits end.
then i thought why not give the car a clean its early so no kids to worry about and it wont be hot yet...
So after washing, drying i waxed it too ( first time in a year) then iv iced all the trims and bits including the wheels, and a bit of tyre shine too..
The result may not be as stunning as some iv seen here but im very happy with again and it only took me 3 hours lol,,
i may even save some pennys and get some of the dents and scratches sorted....
Now il let the pics do the talking,,, comments welcomed..

Sorry about all the pics i was a bit keen...

Hiya guys i own a black 325msport coupe, i love keeping it clean but i have never gone as far as waxing etc. I am wanting to know what waxes you guys use to give a really deep glossy shine to the paint work also your opinions as to how it is best to apply.
I currently use megs gold class to wash the car which i think gives great results i am just wanting to get abit more involved in the detaling process all comments much appreciated cheers
PICS ALSO WOULD BE GREAT

I know a few of you on here are avid detailers and some of you do it for a living?
In the new year I want to look at starting up a little company on the side to make a few extra quid and see where it goes really. Get a few enquiries about doing cars, and I have all the kit now pretty much to do it, just need a unit ideally....
Anyway, got someone wanting their car cleaned this weekend, unsure if it needs machining yet, but what kinda prices are acceptable to charge?
Say for;
Wash, dry, wax, tyres, windows, trims (2 hours)
Foam, wash, dry, polish, seal, wax, tyres, windows, trims (3 hours)
Foam, wash, clay, wash, dry, srp, seal, wax, tyres, windows, trims (4 hours)
Foam, wash, clay, wash, dry, maching polish, seal, wax, tyres, windows, trims (6-7+ hours)
Then theres interiors too, but that will just be 1 fixed price for a hoover and clean, with extra if you want the leather treating.
Was thinking, £20, £30, £40 and £75, with £10 to do interior and £10 to treat leather (need to buy some stuff from Bespoke first)
What you think? Also, any suggestions for a name lol

Can anyone recommend one? I don't want a cheapo 'adds shine' (and blinds you) type, just a decent one that will deepen the colour etc.

Hi all,
I was cleaning my windows tonight with some Window Cleaner which I borrowed from work.
As its a spray bottle some of the droplets dropped onto the door card where it is the black plastic.
I wiped it off pretty soon but it has now left white dots where the drops of window cleaner was .
I sure for a fact that it does have solvent of some sort in it as it has a strong whiff to it but it does clean windows really well.
The car is a E46 BMW so it's the "soft touch" plastic material
I've tried to scrub it off but to no avail, is there anything that can shift it or has it eaten into the material?
Any advice quick would be appreciated as it stands out like a sore thumb as its black trim and white dots

I have taken a picture but it isn't the best, I will try to get a better one tmorrow but hopefully you get the idea.

Where the white dots look like dust its not, it's stained

, if I do go over it with water however the marks do go until the water dries out
I've been suggested that Shoe polish may mask up the marks or go over them with a permanent marker but I thought I'd check if there are other solutions
Thanks

I think mine has been effected by rain/sun or some kind of polish and I cant seem to bring the shine back up, It has dull patches all over it like rain drops dried up. Has anyone else had this problem? Whats the best stuff to use on this? I've used "autosol" and tryed abit of "t-cut" but none of them have done the trick.
Thanks

Well I had the day off on Thursday so decided to have my first go with my DA (Cleaning my car on my gf's birthday didn't go down so well

). Only did the bonnet as I was rushed for time. The sun was also hidden away the whole time so no idea how swirled it was before/after unfortunately. I'll be borrowing my mates LED lamp for when I do the rest of the car though

Just thought I'd put up a couple of beading shots. I used Menz polish, followed by a quick run over with SRP and finally applied Finishkare wax as my LSP. The bonnet was clayed before hand with meguiars clay as there was very little contamination and I didn't want a clay that was too aggressive.
A quick question for anyone in the know, can I apply SRP using the DA without worrying about taking any paint off? Or should I normally be applying SRP by hand?
I'll put a proper right up when I've done the rest of the car

Snow foamed followed by a good wash:

Starting to tape her up:

Bonnet after correction:

Close up beading:

Well, at some point recently I stupidly volunteered to detail the family Disco back to something approaching new, forgetting at the time how big the damn car is and just how much work that would entail. To set the scene, we live out in the middle of nowhere and the car is heavily used as a proper off-roader; i.e. it's no chelsea tractor. As you can imagine, the paintwork has taken a bit of a beating and to say it needs some work is an understatement:

That should give you some idea of the state of it, pretty much all the side bodywork is in the same state, trim is faded etc etc. Anyway, I made a start on the front passenger door last night, took an hour and a half just to clay it back to glass-like, 10 passes with the clay til nothing was coming off! I then cranked up the G220 with a medium Menzerna polish/pad and went at it:

As you can see from the last two shots, it's quite a bit of an improvement, although it needs another round starting with the intensive pad/polish to remove some of the supermarket door dings (the trouble with having such a big car). The delineating line you see in the 2nd and 3rd photos is purely the effect the polish had, that's not adhesive from the tape!
Well pleased with the results.
(apologies for the photos, unfortunately my SLR is elsewhere, hence the iPhone shots)

Hello,
I am new to the site, and I am about to be the proud owner of a mint condition 2000 plate E46 328 Ci SE.
The car(totally standard) does have orange front, side and rear lights though. In order to "clean" up the lines I am looking to purchase good quality clear lenses (as on the later models).
Can anyone please recommend the best place/website to purchase these from?
I have googled this but all I end up finding is the Lexus style lights, which personally, I dont particularly like.
A point in the right direction, experience of people who have carried ou this simple mod, wold be greatly appreciated!
Thank you in advance

thread title says it all really, my wheels badly need a refurb but until i can afford it i've cleaned them up properly, probably took about 5-6 hours to do all 4.
Washed with Sonus Rim Brite
Used bug & tar remover to get rid of the worst deposits
Sonus-ed again
Used Poor Boys wheel sealant (works fantastically)
Blackened the tyre with Chemical Guys Trim Gel
Before:

(yes, i know i need new roundels too)
After:

Moved onto the interior today, basically spent the whole day (6+ hours) cleaning the leather/doors. All the leather has been cleaned with a nailbrush and Zymol leather cleaner, i'll condition them this weekend at some point.
not so obvious (not the best photo):

very bloody obvious:

Hello,
Going to delve into the world of machine polishing soon. The Topaz blue is looking worse for wear at the mo. I understand the claying/cleaning process etc.
When looking at the various polishing products, it's hard to understand what order to use them in etc.
Example, I have looked at Meguiars #83 and #80. I have read that they are to be used in conjunction with each other? Which would you use first?
#83 on a cutting pad, and #80 on a finishing maybe?
If anyone fancies posting a simple guide in terms of product order? Doesn't have to be Meguiars.
Thanks.

Has anyone tried the Genuine BMW Natural Care Car Polish - Eco Friendly? see link below:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Genuine-BMW-Natural-...=item2c54998918It's supposed to consist of fine polishing clay together with Carnauba wax & Linseed Oil.
It's priced at £8.95 + £2.50 P&P
Sounds cheap enough & worth a try.
