Finally got my e39 wheels on my 318.... well half of them. rear tyres were in need of replacement so I took the opportunity to put a new set of Falkens (215/45) on my e39 wheels to see how they look. Was a little worried they'd poke (being ET20) but I'm well happy with the result, really wanted to find wheels I liked with an agressive offset and not have to use large spacers on e46 wheels to get the stance right as you can clearly see them though the spokes and it looks odd to me, bit like have 19 inch spokey alloys and brake discs that wouldn't look out of place on a push bike, another reason I like the 17" wheels as 318 brakes are tiny. It's all about balance. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)

Anyway thought i'd share a few pics.

I'll get the fronts on during the summer but they need polishing as well as tyres. At least Falken 205/40's are reasonably priced.

The clubsport's should have come with those deep dish ones as standard! They're much nicer!

yeah running odd for the time being, luckily my previous wheels have a dish to them as well so it does look so obviously different in shape just colour as the new ones are polished and shiny and my fonts are covered in road grim and brake dust atm.

Old wheels which i'm still running on the front are these below......... maybe I'll start a 'new' look that will spread like wild fire across t'net.... a sort of distressed look, like jeans with no pockets..... or maybe not.

Running different wheels OS/NS ..... that's brilliant. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

I am indeed running odd wheels (front and back). It is only a temp measure though, seemed silly to put new tyres on old wheels just to pay someone again to change them over later.

Rest assured normal service will resume in a month or two.

Just for laughs i'll get some pics up tomorrow of the oddness (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif)

Behold the oddness............ no laughing you lot. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif)

The fronts are Rondell 058's and I think the offset is in the low 30's. The rears are ET20. Both fronts and rears are running 215/45/17 tyres.

I did look at those myself but I think they're 18" which I think might stuggle to fit at that offset without super skinny tyres. That said I think I could get away with a 5mm spacer on my rears. With 205 tyres ET13 on a 17" might work.

I'm sure Nate has posted pics in aonther thread with an e46 running e39 style 5s with spacers.
