  1. Many thanks MUGS - I could not find this when I searched ebay - so thanks for the link. I have also asked if they can supply boot liner for same car.
  2. Anybody know where i can buy rubber floor mats to fit year 2000 E46 convertible? Not at dealers silly price of over £200! Also I am looking for carry case for the wind deflector if anybody knows of one. Thanks
  3. Thanks Dennis for your views - I've read them before of course. But I am struggling to know how or indeed if I can get my current OEM stuff updated to do the things I want - which I think are really quite modest.i.e.reversing camera and DVD player. Any thoughts? I really don't want to shell out shed loads of money. I think camera might operate through TV module, but what about DVD player - the Sat Nav module was taken out of my car by previous owner. Is there an OEM one even?
  4. I have read all the posts in this thread plus LOTS of others. I am thinking of upgrading my ancient OEM cassette player monitor! But to say I am confused is putting it mildly. I am no techie and just want an easy plug and play and easy to use , up to date sound and DVD system. Considering Xtrons, Eonon, Erisin . I probably could not do all the modifications that you guys get into. I know its personal opinions, but this site seems best way to get a consensus opinion before I buy. Currently I have 4:3 old monitor, BM54 (stage 2 modified), 6CD changer(modified to play only my iphone in the car), LEAR TV module, 2 DVD rear screens. I want to add reversing camera and be able to play DVDs for grandchildren in the back. Other things would be a bonus. Nice and simple ( just like me) is what I want. Considering these - any views on what I should go for - even if its modify what I have got somehow - via an auto electrician! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281835489870?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/151926929507?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/231889358129?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/171842565795?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/171842565795?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Confused about what version to get, if at all, given that you guys seem to have had some issues. Should I just go for latest version?
  5. I have year 2000 323Ci with old 4:3 ratio player monitor and tape player, BM54 radio module and 6CD changer, but no BMW sat nav; previous owner had rear headrest screens fitted to use Playstation and kids video games. Anyway, the problem is my rear speakers are not working. They are connected up, but there are also many other DIY connections! I get a loud click noise when I turn on the car's ignition every time ( I think from the front?). Does this seem like a BM54 problem? Or might it more likely be from the DIY mess? My photos are too large to upload, but any advice would be welcome. Cheers
  6. light gold - as in my profile pic - I don't have a thread - my next project is to upgrade my really ancient 4:3 ratio heada unit monitor cos the tv was analogue and my headrest screens don't work. Fancy tha Andrive but its too pricey - old E46 radio/tape stuff dosn't seem to sell well on ebay at moment
  7. Disconnect for safety - you will need to reset the mpg and clock but thats all - I live in Cannock area so you might see me about in the vert?
  8. Any clues or possible links to show a simpleton like me how to go about it? Seems like I could spend as much on loads of bits and pieces to upgrade as it costs for one of the modern retros like Dynavin or Andrive............but I am confused after information overload!
  9. Thanks for replies folks - silly me thinking I could upgrade for £40. The Andrive looks best of the bunch from all the retros available, but not sure I can justify that sort of outlay in my old motor.............but I will sleep on it.............again.
  10. Has anyone any experience of using these conversions - only £40 to convert analogue tv receiver to a digital one - has anyone done this modification please and what were the results?
  11. thanks guys - do the needles light up red ok in the dark if you use the red pen permanent "sharpie" marker?
  12. Can anyone tell me where to get the Tamiya (Translucant) red model paint as I fancy having a go at this modification. Looks really good.

Thanks for all the advice. I now realise that my rear speakers are not working. Is that a common problem with BM54 units? Or it might be because the monkey who owned the car befeore me had headrest monitors fitted ( dont work now) so that might have messed up all the wiring? Any clues/

Thanks RoryW - that saves me the continued frustration od trying to find a suitable DIY fix - Ive been searching for ages now. You seem to offer the best wisdom about DIY ICE stuff. I guess I will have to do with a crappy FM transmitter, or spends loads a dosh to upgrade! Thanks anyway.
