  1. Hi all. I currently have a 325i MSport Touring (M54B25). I’ve got a blow from one of the cats right where the manifolds are. I have a cunning plan... Can I remove both cats (and manifolds in the process) replace the manifolds with M52 manifolds which don’t have cats and then buy an off the shelf stainless exhaust to fit an M52 engined touring - like a 328i of the same year? I seem to think I’ve read somewhere that the block is identical? And the bodywork can’t be different between the 325i and the 328i can it? Will it all fit? It seems too easy. Please sanity check me!   5. Hi all. I've been playing with INPA and NCS Expert for a few weeks now, and I've got my head around what's going on I think. I've coded my front indicators to be on with the light switch set to off - my high beams are on dimmed also - fairly standard 'mod' I think My my problem is that I'd like my side repeaters lit too - is that possible? also, the indicators go out when the headlights come on at position 2 on the switch. Is there away to keep them on? Many thanks, Sean.

  7. Hi all, when I picked my car up 3 weeks ago, I noticed that the front tyres were 225 40 18. When looking around the net I also noticed that the rears were 255 wide. I stupidly assumed that because the fronts were 40 profile, the rears would be as well (facepalm - forgot they're different widths). I saw some part worn winter tyres on eBay for the back, and when they were 255 40 18 I blindly bought them assuming the above. Question is, will the 255 40 18s be too large a rolling radius to fit in the arches? Has anyone run this size before? It's a 325 msport touring. Cheers! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free

  10. FWIW and I'm new to BMWs so please go easy! but Febi Bilstein stuff was OE on my Golf Mk1 GTi convertible. Stuff like bump stops and suspension top mounts which I only replaced a few months ago were Febi. As far as I can tell they're pretty good - I'm a big fan of VW build quality (wife has a Mk4 GTi - I know they're slow but she likes it!) and if they chose them as OE suppliers then they can't be that bad!   11. Hi all, I'm a bit confused. Bought my 325i M Sport touring a couple of weeks ago and the central locking worked, but not with the key. The guy I bought it from said that it was water damage to a sensor in the tailgate (which was also why the rear glass didn't open with the button). He offered to sort it for me, I got the car back today and I now have 2 keys. The original 3 button key which starts the car, and a second key with the blade cut off. All 3 buttons on this sawn off key work. He said that to get the existing bladed key re programmed would cost 180 quid, so he did this instead because the sensor unit he replaced came off a different car. I assume the key that he has sawn off came with it. I tried to initialise my bladed key to the car as described on here & YouTube but it doesn't seem to respond. My question is, is the fact that my key is unresponsive separate from the fact that the sensor pack (or whatever it should be called) is from a different car? I'm guessing that it's just the battery in my bladed key that's knackered, I've seen a guy on eBay that will cut a new key and re code it. I was hoping to send the bladed key for cutting purposes and the sawn off one for coding, to be left with a single key that works but I think I might be missing something somewhere!   14. Hi all, had my E46 325i touring for nearly a week and the first problem presents itself! Was waiting at a jebel crossing earlier when the car began idling a little erratically, nothing dramatic. As I pulled away it sounded almost as if it wasn't running on all 6 cylinders. Power was through the floor, really sluggish. I nursed it to where it was going and started/stopped it a few times. I then put it up on a ramp at my friend's house whilst we looked underneath. We brought the car back down, all the time with the car idling fine. Poking around the engine bay, we found a split, well, a massive hole in what I assume is the crankcase breather, it tees off from the main air inlet after the filter. I didn't have anything to hand to make a temporary repair, so just thought I'd nurse it home. When setting off, all was well again. Power was back, car pulled really hard. Got home, went out again and it started back lumpy again and began cutting out. I took it straight back home and we went out in the wife's car instead. Could this (scary to me) behaviour be a result of the hole in the breather pipe, or do you think something else is at fault, maybe a coil or something?   15. Thanks for the encouragement?! (Maybe?!) guys, I can see I'm in for a load of trouble, but you all seem to have a sense of humour so that's all good! And Mit, the only reason I'm not thinking of an iPod adaptor straight away, is cos some thieving sh*t had it from my mk1 golf gti cabrio last week! Anyway, new car, new problems!
