  1. arms etc will have to come out,,then get bushes in,,so unless your doing it yourself,,is it worth it,,depends how much mechanic is charging for labour,,ive justb changed all front arms on my e90 330d,,control arms/radius arms/drop links,,the guy i used had to use heat,,so the ball joints/knuckles were shot with the heat anyway,,good luck though,,ps arms are different shape on the e90,,,but when i had control arm(lower) rear bushes done on my e46 i remember he just cut the bush out with a grinder and replaced the bush without taking the whole arm off..

  2. how do you know your car has reached desired temp,?,have you checked via hidden menu?  sounds like your thermostats are goosed,,you could have 2 or 1 stat,,i had a 53 plate and only had 1 stat,,yours could have 2,,egr and main,,also clean your egr yes,,but i doubt thats affecting mpg..ps your car should be going over 90 degrees,,i changed sta on my e46 330d and new stats on my 2 present cars ie e90 330d and 335d,,my e90 went from 36 mpg to 42 mpg,,

Tbf even if it's a 330d, being a 51 plate it'll be the 184bhp model which is much less desirable. Even if it's a top-spec (Xenons, the early nav, heated seats etc..) 330d manual i'd say you'd be hard pressed to get £2k even if it's mint! Probably closer to £1500 now..

sold my e46 saloon sport with 157 k miles..no where near mint..53 plate (204) bhp..very rusfed rear arches and rusted around the front grille and a few other bits,,seen better days the car,,was very pleased to get £1420,,had spent a bit in the last year on it though

  4. yeh ive still got a soft spot for the e46 shape,,sold mine 2 months ago ish,,already own an e0 330d sport alongside the e46,,but ive now got a nice e92 335d to replace the e46...wish they would make new cars like a retro e46,,,

    Hi Rasa,

Thanks for responding, they guy who remapped it has done quite a few different cars for friends I know, including my brothers E39 and no problems. Also the rumble only came on after driving for a while and then really booting it, hence why I think its mechanical.

The remap has gone from 302 to 422 of torque FYI.

    Any other ideas?

i jhad 420 ftlbs in my e46..power delivery was great,,no rumble evr,,except when the centre bearing went,,but youd know if that went as the gearstick would shake and the car would only do around 20-30 mph before it would start shaking itself to death,,im 90% sure its the map as ive said,,some folk think they can map cars,,and they can,,but properly.. no..they might get away with getting it right a few times,,,please contact jason from bw chiptune as ive said,,honestly he knows it all,,tuning bmw cars since the 90,s,,and still doing so and also correcting other tuners maps, who have good reputations on facebook etc,,

Hi people sorry if this has all been asked before. But even Google didn't really give me a decent answer that I was looking for. I'm new here so sorry if this in the wrong section.

However I have just had my 330d remapped which has been okay. It's now running 310bhp with 580lbs or 786nm depending on what you prefer. It was fine for a couple of days. But I have noticed that in the higher gears the clutch is slipping a fair bit. Which I supose is to be expected. I do intend on doing a few more upgrades. However I was just on here to see if anyone could recommend a decent clutch upgrade. Also doing away with the DMF.  And going solid.

    Thanks for anyones time.

and forgot to say,,thats way to much torque for the manual box,,mines at 698nm and thats a little too much ,,my 335d on the other hand can eat it up,,730 nm and 350 bhp,,the auto box is just better with the torque converters etc etc

  9. it aint been mapped properly,,my e9 330d 305 bhp and 510ftlbs 698nm has a bit of rumble,,and the guy who has just remapped my other car(335d) is going to read the map and put it right..ie jason from bwchiptune,,the map on the 330d was done by durham remaps and i guess they just throw as much as they can at it and dont bother testing it on dyno like jason,,because he says its easy fixable,,he fixes loads of other tuners maps,,he may be a sponsor on here,,

  10. i hd my arch damamged,,but was rusty also,,i had all the arch repaired/painted etcthe arch bit that sticks out was basically flat,,anyway the guy that done mine has a reputation of being cheap and not the best,,anyway the work looked ok but if you got really picky then it wasnt 100%,,it was just my daily car and the worked still looked ok,,and wait for it£100 i was charged,,this was around 3-4 years ago,,the rust had started to come back through,,the drivers arch on the other hand had a little rust at that time,,and bubbling a little in2013 when i bought it,,but when i sold it 4 weeks ago it was terrible, all the way round the arh,,pieces dropping off on the inner lip and it had spread onto the panel between the door and rear arch/wing...if your keeping the car i wpuld get it cut out,,its the only way
