  1. I think you're right. Just got a tad over excited, that's all. Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
  2. As I promised I would, here is a video of my XKR, in the style of a YouTube Sunday drive/review. Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
  3. Thanks for all the positive feedback guys. So I've had the car for 3 weeks now and covered just over 1000 miles and thought I'd share with you my first thoughts. She really pulls, and I mean really. No matter what gear you're in, I just put my foot down and the torque is immediate. I believe that is a benefit of a supercharger over a turbo. The first day I had her, the compliments I was getting from other drivers in traffic, and pedestrians made me realise I'd made the right decision. Doing 50mph on the motorway I saw 35mpg but on average motorway cruising I'd get about 25mpg. Around town that'll drop to about 14mpg. On my bm I had an eisenmann exhaust which was loud and had gorgeous pops and bangs, this with the ardent exhaust is equally as loud but I'm disappointed that I can't hear it as much purely because the sound deadening inside the jag is so good. The suspension is softer than my bm which was lowered anyway, and the car is so much more comfortable to cruise in, sometimes I wish it was a little bit tighter but then going over speedbumps makes me realise that it is just fine. Strangely enough, despite being 420bhp I don't feel the need to thrash it around. The car holds such road presence and gets so much attention driving slow in a low gear is more than enough to bring a smile to everyone's faces. There is absolutely no space in the back, I've had people in the back 3 times now and they manage it for short trips but it really is a 2 seater car. 3 seater at most because I couldn't move to my chair forward to get someone behind me. It is very wide, it's 6ft 7 wide and extremely long too, so I've had to adjust to that when parking. The black paint came with a lot of swirls on it so I'll be doing some serious polishing to get rid of those. Being black paint it is really noticeable on a sunny day too. The aerial is probably the ugliest thing on the car so I've pulled the fuse on that to keep it down, still get classic fm which is the only station I'd listen to but it comes with ipod connection so I can listen to Spotify on longer journeys, or just the exhaust actually. Talking of sound, when you get above 4000rpm the supercharger makes a high pitch whine which compliments the bass of the v8 and growling of the exhaust. Any problems? These cars are pretty bullet proof but if I've parked and left the engine running I get a warning light come up for the pedestrian system (this basically pops up the bonnet several inches in a crash with a pedestrian softening their blow) but if I turn the car off and back on it goes away. So I wonder whether the lack of air cooling expands the sensors? That's about it really, if you've got any questions or comments keep them coming as I'm on this forum every now and again, great bunch of chaps here. Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
  4. Same with me mate. I was looking at the e90 m3 as that is in a similar price bracket and similar car. Also looked at the XK too. But there is something about a jaaaag that pulls me tinker. Saw this one come up before Christmas, got over excited and bought it last week. I'll have to post some videos on here. Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
  5. As the name suggests I am leaving BMW ownership after 18 joyful months in the 330ci. In those 18 months I have travelled 28,000 miles (primarily on motorways) and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of owning my E46. But now I am moving onto a different breed of car altogether. Whilst looking around I had a check list of what the next car needed to be. I wanted something: - Reliable - Practical - Economical So of course I followed absolutely none of those and bought something fast, thirsty and impractical. But then I remembered you have one life so you might as well enjoy it. Ladies and Gents I proudly present....... My Jaguar XKR If you're unfamiliar with these cars I'll give you a bit of info. The Jaguar XKR to the XK is the 'M3' to the 330ci, it has a supercharged 4.2 Litre Engine producing 420bhp and travelling from 0-60mph 4.8 seconds. It is a 6 speed auto gearbox with flappy padels when in sport mode and has a big red start button. This one in particular comes with a carbon fibre rear diffuser and an Arden Exhaust system along with the larger rear spoiler off the XKR-S. Owning a Jag has scientifically been linked to increasing the amount of women one attracts and has strong correlations with becoming a James Bond villain I wanted to share this with you and I hope you enjoy her as much as I will when I pick her up on Monday. I'll keep checking in on here and chip in as and when I can as there is a great community of enthusiasts here along with a bucket load of banter. Cheers chaps [emoji106] Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
  6. I've had the same issue with mine. No matter how hard I tried I even took the entire boot surrounding out and unbolted the metal housing it sits in. It is caused by a little clip that becomes stiff. To fix it you have to take it apart a fair amount (there is a video on YouTube) Let us know how you get on . Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
  7. Cheers chaps. It's all up and running now. Just took so long! Game play is great too. I tried to put it in 'other' but tapatalk said that I wasn't allowed the next best thing was jokes. So just to make it allowed. . "Where was the stupid woodworm found. .....in a brick" Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
  8. Hi all, Yesterday I bought a PS3 and GTA5 & Gran Turismo 6 from CEX. All is working fine so no problems there. When inserting gt6 in yesterday evening it went through a 5 hour update. I've now just put in GTA5 and it is doing the same. Now I've not used a PS3 ever, but when I had my ps2 all those years ago we just put the disk in and played. I've done a bit of research online and it seems people have a choice between digital and physical??? Can someone explain why this is taking so long? What is it updating? Why is it updating it? Many thanks Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
  9. I had these lights on whilst driving for 6 hours none stop through London on the hottest day of the gear. I let the car cool down for an hour and all lights went away. I put it down to a sensor playing up. Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
  10. If I remember correctly (now that it has become muscle memory) You hit the on button to turn the cruise control feature on, then when you get to the right speed you hit the + button to mark the speed. Taking your foot off the accelerator will maintain the speed. To decrease the speed push the - button and to cancel the speed tap the break or turn cruise control off all together. The clock button I believe is the speed limiter which can also be set via your satnav/tv if you have one. Hope that helps Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
  11. Glad we have a similar outlook. This weekend I've had to put a 2.6kva generator, a marquee a petrol tank and 3 smaller suitcases in the back of the 330. This is when I realised that the e46 is such a great car. Coupe when it needs to be with the capability of being a white van. Potentially going to look at e90 m3s as the replacement. (But not for a while I don't think) Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
  12. Hey folks, I've owned my 330ci for just over a year now and it has been great to own. But recently I've been thinking that the grass is greener on the other side. . . . I've been commiting vehicular adultery. I've always loved the look of the Z4Coupe and always flick through adverts on pistonheads and auto trader to see what's about and today this cheeky coupe was spotted. I loved the look of it, the very subtle mods that had been done including the rear spoiler, the alloys, lowered and colour coding the side reflectors as well as debadging. Here is the full advert http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201508095916956 I went for a test drive today and wasn't too blown away by the handling or performance. It isn't too much faster than 330ci but one thing for sure is that it is far less comfortable. Whether it was the lowered suspension or the roads we were on it was just a solid hard ride. After driving it and looking through the service history I made a decision to not go with the sale, I loved the style of the car but I felt it was slightly over priced I would potentially have offered £8250-£8500 For me the downsides were that on opening the door the cabin stunk of smoke, the arches were grazing the tyres on the front and catching them on full lock (also had 10mm spacers), then when it came to 'Full BMW Service history' the book wasn't stamped and yes it had been serviced at BMW but all work was done by a mate who is a mechanic. He couldn't find the receipts for the new water pump or front arms which was another sign to walk away. The seats looked a little tired too and on opening the drivers side window the button fell off in my hand which was rather embarrassing. From the photos and pictures on auto trader I was hoping to fall in love as the look and style of the car is exactly what I would have done myself but on this occasion I just felt that it had been tinkered with a bit too much and little issues hadn't been resolved. Not to mention the price which I thought was too high. So, am I right for walking away? What would you have done? Jon Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
  13. I had a similar problem read my thread here. There is also a video to see if that helps too. http://www.e46zone.com/forum/index.php?/topic/60783-Engine-Issue,-help!-(video) Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
  14. Depending on the age and mileage of the car. If you are going to get a new rad, it may be worth doing water pump too. I had an entire coolant system on my 330ci. It was definitely worth changing the water pump it was in a state. Glad you found it though, no doubt down to a bowed rad. Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
  15. Thanks Bob. Really appreciate that matey. Strangely enough the engine light has gone off now. I guess the car just needed time to reset itself and do the engine checks. It's good to know you have one though for future. Thanks again mate. Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
