  1. I was tempted but already have a '92 GMC suburban, R32 GTR, Marcos V6, 200sx S14a, I'd get hung if I bought another car without getting rid of one! I am leaning towards keeping the E46 for the reasons Rich D says, along with the fact I already have it! Alex B
  2. My 330 is the 204bhp 6 speed one, full black leather heated seats, 120k miles, pretty tidy, nice to drive, averaged 38mpg on a recent holiday to cornwall, (genuine, not from the display). The 530 I'm looking at is alcantara, (so probably not heated), probably in the region of 180k miles at a guess, (was at 160k a year ago), needs a few jobs doing but price reflects it. On paper the E39 is only 1mpg lower round town but now sure in real terms. Alex B
  3. I've recently bought a 2003 330d touring manual M Sport after giving up looking for a 530d manual M Sport, but I've got the option of a 2002 530d Manual M Sport now. Anyone owned both and able to give me feedback? I really like the 3 series and it seems fairly economical but I like the rarity and extra size of the 5 series. I've also read the 5 series is more comfortable/softer. Thanks Alex B
  4. Is it better than this one for basic coding and fault finding? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-Scanner-1-4-0-v-Never-Locking-Car-Diagnostic-/271182370879?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item3f23ba983f Alex B
  5. How do people find these? I'm tempted to order one as I want to do a bit of coding but having read their feedback it doesn't look good? My laptop is only running Windows Vista if that makes a difference? Thanks Alex B
  6. Loads of options on Ebay. http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_odkw=wheel+bag&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.Xwheel+and+tyre+storage+bag.TRS0&_nkw=wheel+and+tyre+storage+bag&_sacat=0 Alex B
  7. I'm currently trying to fit my towbar, it isn't Westfalia but the basics are the same, (mines a Witter), I'm stuck at the part of trying to get the wires into the back of the fuse holder, I can't work out how to get into the back of the holder, (step 6 on the link). Anyone know how to drop the fuse holder more than just the 2 white plastic clips? Thanks Alex B
  8. Something like this? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/WHITE-E46-NON-PROJECTOR-HEADLIGHT-CCFL-ANGEL-EYE-KIT-7000K-FOR-BMW-3-SERIES-/201358415515?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item2ee1e5969b And they're a direct fit with no errors etc? Alex B
  9. Has anyone used these ones: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221415632193?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Alex B
  10. I've just got some LED sidelights which are supposed to be error free, but they still throw up the bulb out light and turn the front indicators to sidelights. I bought these ones: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271826571513?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Has anyone bought any off Ebay that have worked? I don't want to pay silly money for them really. Thanks Alex B
  11. Hi, what engine oil would you recommend for a 2003 330d, with 120k miles, mostly short journeys but will also be doing longer runs in the motorway? BMW recommend Castrol but I'm a fan of Motul so open to suggestions. Also, what quantity for engine gearbox and diff? Thanks Alex B
  12. Sorry should have made that clear, I meant Jamie. Thanks for your offer but I'm not local and from what I've seen the convertable towbar is different to all the rest. Alex B
  13. What type do you have, flange or swan neck? Alex B
  14. Too many! R32 GTR, in the process of restoring. GMC Suburban, in the process of customising Nissan 200sx S14a, being prepared for sale so I can buy something else, possibly '50s American Marcos V6, trying to tidy up enough to be usable Because of the above I decided I needed something I could actually use, which is why I got the 330d touring! Alex B
  15. I know this is a bit of a thread revival, but I'm hoping GeoffMM gets notified and takes a look! Is this a removable flange towbar, as PFJones are saying that they only do removable swan necks, though on the Witter site it says the flange one is upgradeable to a detachable, (PFJones have said it changes to a swan neck when detachable which makes no sense). Thanks Alex B
  16. Has anyone used the PFJones own brand fixed, is it the same as the picture: Thanks Alex B
  17. Thanks for all the replies. Yeah I need a flange type ideally, (or to change the hitch on the caravan, but I'd rather avoid that expense if possible). I'm now looking at fixed flange types that can be unbolted from underneath the car when not in use, something along these lines: http://towbarandtrailercentre.com/genuine-witter-bm15b-towbar-for-bmw-3-series-coupe-1999---2006-31880-p.asp but most companies use generic photos and don't know what the actual item looks like! Has anyone used one like this before? Thanks again Alex B
  18. I've just bought a 330d touring M Sport and want to fit a towbar, I've seen a few fitted but I can't find any available that work with the sport bumpers, does anyone know where I can find one? I'd need it to be a flange type to work with my stabiliser. Thanks Alex B
