  1. Just thought I’d pop a picture of some clutch bling This is what I have to go in my Clubsport [emoji7] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Yeah I know, I want to hang it in my lounge, not hide it inside a bell housing 🤣 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Had a chance to test fit the engine over the weekend, all very tight, and a few things will need changing, but all coming along well [emoji106] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Well finally have my clutch And basically it’s a work of art, rated to 1500bhp so should be future proof when I fit a bigger turbo in a few years [emoji12] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Have had to remove the air con stuff, and relocate the washer bottle, that’s it, and yes the Bonnet clears [emoji106] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Started some final assembly today and ran into a few fitment issues, so having to get the down pipe modified, buts it’s starting to look mighty fine Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Decided I should tap some extra holes in the M54 head to firmly secure the turbo manifold. The M50/52 engines have 8 extra studs compared to the M54. Now each port has 4 studs [emoji108][emoji106] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Still a way to go yet Rich Have wiring mods, and many hours of test fitting and trimming to go yet, plus brackets to be made up for the intercooler and oil cooler......... it seems like an endless list but will be worth it once completed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Cams now installed and timing all set Vanos unit fitted too Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Then on went the COMETIC headgasket, followed by the head, and finally all torqued down to RACEWEAR’s specification. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Then I installed the RACEWEAR head studs, again by hand, and applied blue hylomar to the lower threads only, all this is for is preventing corrosion should I need to remove them at a later date. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Finished installing the TIMESERTS into the block The block has been drilled earlier, see previous posts, the timesert gets loctite on the outside threads, then screwed in by hand Once it’s flush with the top of the block, I used an M10 roll tap (or flute tap some call it) as these form the metal and don’t produce any swarf. You MUST lube up the threads on the roll tap, then simple run the tap down the TIMESERT, it will screw into the block further then it will get a bit tighter as the bottom few threads are forced out into the alloy block and lock it in place. Once the tap has bottomed out, simpley remove it and your done. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Yes mate, 330 clubsport Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. If it just a road car put in an OE clutch and flywheel. Doesn’t have to be genuine, the BMW ones are LUK anyway. The vibrations from a SMF conversion will be very annoying, I had to get my idle turned up as it was rather annoying sitting stationary and feeling the whole car jigging Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Intake ports all finished, had to tap out the CCV air ports that are in each intake port, these have to be blocked as the M50 manifold does not accommodate them. So just tapped out a thread in each one and fitted a M10 grub screw in which is loctited in place also. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Short block is all buttoned up now, all new gaskets and seals installed, have finished fitting the TIMESERTS into it also, will take a picture of that when I remove the protective tape. Started work on the intake ports, they needed widening quite a lot to allow a smooth flow for the M50 intake manifold. Have also started test fitting the exhaust parts, it’s very tight for clearance and lots of trimming was required from the valve cover unfortunately Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. There are baffle kits available but it’s not really needed unless your into high speed drifting, and I can’t drift for s**t lol. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Today I installed the uprated oil pump from PARKIN RACING DEVELOPMENTS. It has a much stronger internal shaft and 4 fastening bolts for the sprocket, also come with a tensioner for the chain which will stop any chain slack acting as a jack hammer, this is the main cause for the oil pump failures and the reason the original single sprocket fastener comes undone [emoji15] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Had to file the top of the EAGLE con rods slightly as they were binding on the WISCO pistons, that took a while as they are mega hard steel [emoji23] Then spent hours filing the pistons rings to spec as they are file to fit rings. Then assembled all the rods and installed them with new KING RACING big end bearings. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Got stuck into cleaning the block today, the varnish on the inside was pretty horrid. Time was against me today so didn’t take as many pictures as I’d like to have done. Got the crank all clean too. Unfortunately the new crank bearings I had ordered didn’t fit, the tangs were too wide Just cleaned up the old ones and have used those, all were in good condition only having covered 64,000miles. 21. Santa arrived early [emoji12] Block, head and crank are back from the machine shop, exhaust and manifold, plus many more parts all arrived today. Time to get busy Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Still not much progress but the parts gathering is almost complete. Will see a big leap over Xmas hopefully. But here’s a teaser, still working on this manifold but it’s not far from being ready. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Hey Govich I may be interested in the coils, will email you. I’m looking at 20-22psi now so should be close to or above 600 now [emoji15][emoji15][emoji15] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Takes about an hour to replace fuel pump, I’ve done a fair few. Don’t pay that ridiculous price............ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
