  1. I'm more than capable of doing the works, have restored and built turbo cars before. Looking for an off the shelf package like the ESS package, but wow that's expensive. A question to you M3 owners, there's a couple of issues you may be able to answer. Main concerns for me are the VANOS units, are they much different from the 330 items ? And the SMG gearbox, I know the actual gearbox is the same as a manual, it's the pumps that are problematic. I read they're supposed to be set up annually to allow for clutch wear and that keeps them smooth. Have you had this done, how much, where, and are all the horror stories true! I've found a nice car with the SMG, it has 74k on it full history blah blah blah but the fear of a huge bill is so off putting. Taking the gearbox out in my garage just isn't going to happen anymore. 2. Mine also does this, personally I think it's vibrations transmitted through the chassis as I have black series rear trailing arm bushes and Powerflex purple front /rear wishbone bushes. Admittedly it only happens around 60-65mph which normally would indicate issues with wheel balancing, but it's the same no matter what wheels I run. Mine is only a slight feeling though, not a proper shake through the steering wheel or feeling through the seat. Has your car got uprated bushes ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Took a look at Simpsons website, nothing listed under the SC section, but I guess a phone call needs to be made to spec something like that up. I've often thought of getting an M3, but the issues that seem to plague them worries me. I know my clubby is superb mechanically, and has only 57k on the clocks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. 'Big sigh' Any UK companies offering drive in super charger services ? Going to start looking into upping the power next year, was thinking of driving to Germany to get the work done, must be lots of good guys out there doing stuff with this engine ! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. So over the years, this power plant has been developed, and produces more power. Question being here, are there any nice parts to keep an eye out for to upgrade an older engine ? Updated camshafts perhaps, or improved manifolds etc. The Z4 for example claims 265bhp, I'd like my clubby to produce that Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Thought I'd drop an update in on the P-Zero's I went for. No complaints with the road usage I've had so far, much improved ride with the 18" over the 19" too. The P-Zero is noisier compared to the Falkens I was running. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. MJN, why are your wheels so dirty in the picture at Reims-Gueux ;0 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Looks good with the hard top and roof rack on, never seen that before [emoji106] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Yeah they are only for trackdays, I pop the standard back in after. Was contemplating giving the yellow a go. Thanks, and sorry for hijacking [emoji106] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Rich, how are the yellow stuff pads on the rear ? The blue stuff I have were very noisey Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Finally got one of the laps uploaded, this was about a 10 minute lap with a fair amount of traffic. Never looks fast on the videos, but felt pretty quick to me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I'll hopefully have some track footage soon so I'll post it up and you can see what you think ! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Thanks for the quick replies, I had to let the guy know this evening what I was doing. And after doing this for a comparison The Z4 wheels reminded me of some TSW wheels from the 90's stuck on a E30, just don't suit the car. I set out to bring the car back to original do going to stick with it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. My concern is there's very few images online of them fitted to a E46. In these pictures they really don't suit it ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Guys, I've just got a standard set of wheels back onto my Clubsport, but just been offered a set of these Z4 alloys eBay image, but do you think they'll suit the CS ? Had these on originally but didn't like the ride with 19" Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. To be honest all the top brands seem pretty dam good these days. It came down to price and looks in the end. I will say though i deliberately avoided the Goodyear Eagle F1's, I have them on my BMW 120, and while they work perfectly on the road, the sidewalls are visibly softer than MICHELIN, BRIDGESTONE or PIRELLI options. 17. Thanks for all the replies, I placed an order with black circles today. £438 for a set of Pirelli P-Zero 225-40-18 & 255-35-18 Good price I think, have always fancied a set of these so will see how they go [emoji106] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. I cant subscribe either !
  19. Been doing some reading and I can't decide... Pirelli P-Zero Nero New tyre design, not sure I like it aesthetically ? Pirelli P-Zero Michelin Pilot Sport 3, likes them before, was also OE on my Clubsport when new (pilot sport 2 was) Bridgestone Potenza, best looking of the bunch They're all around the same price, and all have similar reviews and grip levels ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Can you guys explain what your engines sound like at high RPM, almost redline ? Mine has a throaty raspy almost metallic noise in the last 500rpm ish, is it normal ? Been reading about VANOS and now I've convinced myself it's that even though it's most likely not lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Well today's trackday got cancelled, event called off due to extreme fog So for now the rear pads are coming out until the next one in the new year. Will update once I get them on track. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Phew, had a little moment that's all Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Does look great, where abouts are you ? Would like my rear windows 1 touch too, it's very annoying lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. PeeBee, just had a read through this again, are the wheels good to use ? I'm concerned now after your previous post :0 and they are the 18" ones ! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. I have Goodyear eagle F1's on my 120d. Nice tyre but the sidewall is a bit soft. I'm now looking for a set of 4 tyres for my Clubsport as I have just bought another set of original wheels from a member here. Anyone using the Pirelli P-Zero Nero's ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
