Bank 1/2 is not strictly correct as a 316Ti only has one bank (it's probably just the way the scan tool reports sensor data), however, it is showing the problem though, there is an air leak being indicated, as the fuel trim on the cylinder bank(s) is way too high. It is cause and effect, it's very likely an air leak is causing the fault code for fuel trim on the bank(s). He said it could mean bank 1/2 as in pre/post cat sensor. I'm going to have a look tomorrow, I "attempted" a smoke test and had some smoke come up from behind the oil filter housing low downish, but couldn't see where exactuslly from but I'm sure not the ccv, there is a small hose on the airbox I'm wondering where it goes to I have no idea where to start Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  7. The breakdown company I use checked the codes and his is saying bank 1/2 but how the car is performing he thinks air leak. There is no unused ports on the ccv. I'm just pulling my hair out with it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  10. Hi all, I replaced my ccv valve on my e46 316ti n42 I made sure everything was connected but I'm getting the engine light on with the following codes. My obd2 cheap code reader says: P1159 - fuel trim additive bank 1 high P1161 - fuel trim additive bank 2 high Also on tick over the mag dial on the all says 4.8 g/s Can anyone please help me with what my problem could be? I had a split pipe witch I recently replaced I then topped the car up with water to the correct mark on the water tank - going to replace the water with coolant once I know it's ok I started the car, turned it off and checked it again and the coolant float was right down the bottom!! Do I need to keep doing this until the float comes up eventually after it is fully filled or am I doing something wrong?? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  15. Hi all I had my oil filter housing gasket replaced as the car was loosing oil and it was picked up on a previous service. At the same time I had a oil change But roughly 4 months on oil the oil has gone!! After reading online I think it's possibly the CCV valve.
