  1. First shot of BMW/ AUDI convertable

Shocking Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk
  2. Is there anything wrong?

The test drive by you may be a sticking point....I know I would certainly be needing to drive a car before buying especially if it was ove £10k. Also the upgraded ice bit is a bit off putting ad it may sound slightly molested. Just my 2 pence worth!! Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk
  3. Morning guys - my 330ci has developed a noise which could be a failed wheel bearing - sounds like a light grinding noise at the near side rear. Any ides how much s garage would charge to replace it...I've had one quote and it was £225 - this sounds a bit expensive but before I go ahead and get it done, just wanted to check with you guys if this sounds about right for the repair? Thanks in advance Steve
  4. I'm trying to swap or sell my wood trim mate - only prob is i have a vert which has an extra switch on the centre gear shifting panel? Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk

What is it with e46s and off centre steering wheels.... Have you sorted your issue yet Seb1973? Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk
  6. My journey so far...

I may get some software for myself as I using a friends currently. I think it's the full inpa, great piece of software! My other friend has the obd reader (think it's called that?) But not sure it clears codes? It's a handy tool and was like 15 sheets - connects to your phone and pushes info via Bluetooth - are these worth getting? Shame about the topaz coupè mate - non salvageable I take it? As I said in a previous post - e46 zone is the most active as I joined up on the usual forums and we're sh*te. Having fun posting and searching here so will be hanging around for a while - apologies in advance !! I'll be sure to check out your build mate! I also love the imola colour - not enough of them around for my liking. What's the tale tale signs of the rear subframe failing? Not sure if I wanna look [emoji85]. Cheers fella! Funny things these e46s - too many sensors dotted around the place. Although I think I'd prefer to know if there is fault, as could lead to further issues. I agree that the LMs looked good but when you got close you could see it just looked like an abortion. The geometry was all over the place. I doesn't help that the car has had a slight drop and one place couldn't get the supertracker equipment under there rear arches. The only equipment that would work is the Hunter system. Did you have any problems with your coupè? Ideally I'd like the LMs in 18 Cheers Steve Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk
  9. My journey so far...

Hi guys First official post here.... I set off on a journey with my 2004 330ci m sport convertible about a month ago and I've been through the mill with it😣 It all started in Oxford, where my destiny awaited. With the wife and 2 kids onboard, it was a full scale operation! With a load of questions asked via WhatsApp and over the blower, I made the arrangements to see the car, being satisfied with the answers. It sounded top notch. Full grey leather, auto, in titanium silver, it ticked a lot of my boxes The guy had owned it for a year and was selling her to release funds for another project. The car has full BM history up to 89k and an independent at 96k, which is when I took ownership off her. It's a big shame about the independent stamp but at least it's stamped?! When I arrived, the guy had just got out of was midday and it hadn't been cleaned but he'd just finished hoovering it. Not a great start! She had a set of 19" bbs LMs - the arches were rubbing to the extent it removed the tyre information off the side wall - it was clear this guy wasn't an enthusiast😕. Luckily for me, the deal included a mint set of mv2s so my first thoughts were to get rid if the 19s and bring her back to standard[emoji108]. The test drive was great, however, the guy failed to mention, on the numerous occasions we spoke, to tell me that the DSC and handbrake lights on in amber. I noticed that the steering wheel wasn't centre to when the front wheels were pointing straight....not very happy to say the least. BUT...and I think it's a big but...the car was well up together (other than mentioned above) you could tell that the guy hadn't looked after her for the year he had it. My thoughts were, at the right price, this car is recoverable as the previous owner to him had it serviced regularly (and by my local dealer, Scotthalls..bonus). With a bit of haggling and a wind deflector thrown in, I got her for 3750. I figured with the wheels sold at 400 she owes me 3350. Had 4k to play with initially which could rectify the issues! I got her home with the spare wheels in the zafira and the eldest riding shotgun with popps!! It was pi$$ING down with rain, but as always with BMs, a pleasure to drive, other than the irratating off centre steering wheel. I had the codes read with my friends software and got 5E20 (Pressure sensor #1 electrical failure) and 5E40 (Steering Angle not plausible). I set on my way to fix the dsc sensor by replacing it along with a bush kit as there was some knocking on the front end, cleared codes, job done! Following morning, looking forward to not seeing any lights in the dash and they there were.. ffs! Read codes 5E40 step was to laser align her. I read on another forum that tracking and driving 50 miles resets the steering angle sensor and clears the 5E40 code automatically! No lights as of yet and a very happy e46 driver! So there is my journey so far! Looking forward to sharing the good and bad times ahead! Cheers Steve Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk
  10. Double sided tape...simple, effective and cheap...I'm gonna do that the weekend [emoji106] cheers dude! Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk
  11. This must be a common issue as myself and 2 friends from work have both lost a fog light surround on our 330ci's. bought one from ebay for 12 queensheets (as did i) and the other just ripped the other one off ... piece of pi$$ to fit but I guess that's why they always go missing :/ Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk
  12. Steering angle sensor help

I had a 5E40 code which is "steering angle sensor not plausible" issue with my 330ci m sport vert..the steering wheel was not 'centre' to when the wheels are straight...I had my tracking laser aligned and drove 50 miles (this is crucial) and this resets the the parameters of the sensor and the dsc and handbrake lights (in amber) disappeared. ..if this doesn't happen, then i suggest that the sensor is it's an elecrical component failure. But get your codes read! I hope this helps .... Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk

Cheers for the warm welcome lads - it's an auto - purely because my good friend has a 330 m sport coupè and drove his and thought "I'd like a bit of that" - certainly made it easier when looking for cars! Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk

Cheers dude - my main concern is detailing - bringing her back to immaculate and some subltle changes, may lower the front but no too into over modding, maybe black kidney grills at a push! Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk

Hi guys..not sure if this is the correct place to be doing an into, but 'intros' wasn't an option on the drop down..anyways feel free to move it please mods! My name is Steve and I'm from Southampton - England ! I have recently purchased and fallen in love with my 2004 e46 330ci M Sport convertible. She's finished in titanium silver and has covered 96k - she came with full BM history. I've been on a journey with this car even though I've only owned her for around a month but will post up what I've been through in another post if this forum is active...I have joined other forums but they don't seem to be much going on. I hope this one is a 'daily posting/replying place!! Anyways you'll be seeing me around these parts [emoji106] All the best Steve
