unionjack Posted December 10, 2011 Report Share Posted December 10, 2011 Hey all, Not so long ago I got my vcg gasket replaced as I could smell burning oil, well it has started again, I can smell burning oil when sat at traffic lights, and I can see little smoke from engine bay, although this time I cant see an oil leak like before. GAZ 2617 Posted December 10, 2011 Report Share Posted December 10, 2011 Mine had a slight dribble from the back of the head. I was told its a common problem. Oil was tracking down onto the exhaust and the odd puff of smoke in traffic was quite worrying! Smelt bad too. There is a bolt right at the back that's a pig to reach that can unscrew. Individual 330ci Posted December 10, 2011 Report Share Posted December 10, 2011 Id check the 11 bolts around the perimeter of the rocker cover first. When I changed mine I did them tight, then ran it for a week and nipped them up again as due to heating and cantraction I got a bit of a turn on each.
