Mirror Memory Modules And Wiring Harnesses.

9 posts in this topic

Wanna upgrade to folding mirrors but don't have memory seats?

I have what you need.

Modules for both doors and wiring harnesses to connect them to the car.

Pics up shortly. These are designed to accept the 12 pin door mirrors from pre facelift models.

I believe from 99 onwards but you can only be sure by taking your door card off and checking.

If you have non memory seats and wish to fit memory folding mirrors this is what you'll need.

They will not retain the memory function as the buttons are on the seats unless there's another way around it that I'm not sure about.

These sell for approx £20 to £30 each side just for the modules on eBay.

All yours for £40

Pics

This is the whole loom for one side. Black box is the memory module, loom plugs in one side as shown and the mirrors plug in the empty side. It's a whole door loom as it has plugs for speakers on there too, which look the same as my HK speaker plugs which come from the loom.

And the plug for the mirrors to go in when you have them.

I'm not sure, but this *might* give you auto dip mirror (passenger side) when fitted if you dont already have that option.

Bumpety bump - to give you an idea why you may need these!

If your car has no memory seats/mirrors this is what your mirror plugs will look like.

If you want to fit powerfolds pre 2003(?)

The wires will look like this

As you can see, totally different. You will need the memory modules to attach them to.

Confusing,,,,,,its an age thing.

I have electric memory seats, and the dip mirror when reversing but dont have the electri folding mirrors, would this then give me the folding mirror option as well, i presume i would need to change the finger tip control button for one with the little button on it as well.....

Steve - much more simple for you but much more expensive I'm afraid. You will already have these gizmo's fitted to your car. You'd need to buy the folding mirrors themselves and a button with the switch on.

The only people that would need these gizmo's are those who do not have memory seats/mirrors and want to either upgrade to that option and/or powerfold mirrors.

Further to my first post, I now believe the loom is for NON Harman Kardon systems - HOWEVER, I doubt you'd need to entire loom and be able to just use the modules. I will do some research for a definitive answer.
