Hi guys, got a Kenwood kdc-w7541u head unit in the car and just bought a samsung galaxy s3 phone. I've got a usb input from the rear of the head unit but it doesnt recognise the phone at all (although it does charge it). Whats the best way for me to connect my phone to my head unit so i can play my music? The phones got bluetooth but the head unit is described as 'bluetooth ready' which i assume means i have to buy something else for it to work. Would an aux in be the easiest method? Would prefer something that charges my phone aswell but beggars cant be choosers!

Heres my headunit http://www.kenwood-e...usb/KDC-W7541U/

Cheers!

Just read through this:

http://www.my330i.com/mod26.php#P

looks like a fairly elegant solution, anyone know where i can get a cheap male to female aux cable where the female end has a bezel of some sort so it can be mounted in the dash?

The spec on the stereo shows 'Bluetooth audio streaming' so I'd use that. Saves having wires dangling about the place.

i was under the impression that to use anything to do with bluetooth on it you had to by an extra bluetooth kit? The head unit came with the car so i don't have the instructions but i found the user manual online:

http://www.kenwood.n...41u_english.pdf

but doesnt seem to say anything about streaming audio through bluetooth!

Your first link shows the bluetooth kit as being an option, not standard. Guess you'll need that, KCA-BT200.. Bottom of that page.

Looks like it costs £100 for the kit! Think im just going to install an aux in port if i can find a reasonably priced 3.5mm port that can be dash mounted!

Need something like this http://www.ebay.co.u...r-/110754452318

but would prefer something a lot neater like in the DIY guide i posted to look more oem

I need something like this http://cgi.ebay.co.u...cvip=true&rt=nc with the 3.5mm port on one end that can be easily mounted in the dash, but i just need an regular 3.5mm jack on the other end as i've already got an aftermarket head unit. These cables dont seem to exist!

EDIT: This is exactly what i need http://www.frontx.co.../p0902_036.html if anyone knows where i can get one for a reasonable price it would be much appreciated!
