Mr Squibbs
Well after months of looking and shall I, sharn't I - I finally took the plunge and bought what had been a dream since school. Albeit not an M3 that I had longed for, aesthetically, these cars are stunning in my opinion and will be considered a classic in years to come. I opted for the 318i - we're looking to buy a house next year, so I wanted something that I could keep (now I'd got my hands on one) and having had it for 5 days now, the power is more than enough for me at the moment, and I'm pleasantly surprised with the economy. Picked her up Tuesday night, and got some M Sport mats ordered straight away, and won a cup holder on ebay - I can recommend the mats for £23 delivered (linky) see pic below Saturday came and I got out all the gear that had sat redundant since I owned my 1 Series.....and the car got 3.5 hour wash including snow foam and Meguiers stage 1 paint cleaner, and stage 2 deep crystal polish. Got the opportunity earlier today to pop for some quick photos.... Colossuss
Very clean! Don't see the point in debadging when you still have a single exhaust tip though
B0B
Not everyone debadges so they can pretend they have a bigger car though. Some people just do cos they think it looks a lot cleaner (like me)

Lovely looking coupe Thanks mate, read through your thread a few times before purchasing, it's lovely Very clean! Don't see the point in debadging when you still have a single exhaust tip though Just for the record, I didn't debadge it, it came like that......but I wud have debadged it anyway. Like B0B says it looks cleaner...those that know what they're look for wouldn't be fooled anyway. Not everyone debadges so they can pretend they have a bigger car though. Canon too, I'm wanting to get some new photos of the car but it needs a thorough clean and a nice background. Going to wait until the weather warms up a little. Mr Squibbs
Dial mod done Before Done Anyone that's done it, did you have difficulty putting the left and right trip buttons back in? My left button (trip reset) isn't working :s Btw, I know the red on the needles hasn't taken very well. That is after 3 coats. I'll get it all out again at the weekend and re-do it Edited January 31, 2013 by Mr Squibbs
B0B
One of the most important parts of putting the cluster back together is to make sure you align the trip reset and clock adjust buttons correctly, if they are not aligned up right then you will snap the small "L" shaped striker pins off. Its worth taking it apart again and having a look, but I would suggest you have broken the left button
Proffitt
Thanks mate, read through your thread a few times before purchasing, it's lovely Thanks mate, much appriciated Clocks look good, such an easy yet affective mod. The pins were a bit fiddly to put back in the correct position but managed ok

Its worth taking it apart again and having a look, but I would suggest you have broken the left button I don't think I have broken the little "L" bit, as it was intact before I put the clocks back in the car. We spent ages in the house trying to work out to line it up properly and I wasn't fully happy in the house but had to go out so they had to in quickly. I'll take them out again tmw, you know which way round they should go do you? Thanks mate, much appriciated :)/> Clocks look good, such an easy yet affective mod. My right hand side one works, but the left wont click in to reset the trip
