mjn
Pleasantly surprised that in the 10k miles i've done in the E90, all its officially needed is rear brake pads, "vehicle check" and new set of rear tyres. Total cost £600. Cheaper than the E46 cost me to run over 10k miles. Only preventative maintenance was autobox oil change, £700, and not due again until 120k miles. Jay.
£700 to change the 'box oil? f**k me!!! MICK 330
mjn
Yup. Somebody wanted over £1k! You gotta replace the bottom sump when you do oil change, as the filter is part of it. That part alone is nearly £200.
Jay.
I dropped Rich_d off last week for the same treatment at an auto trans specialist in Preston £250 iirc all in, 330d auto e90 Rich_D
mjn
Good price that, can't even buy the parts for that! 7 litres of the correct oil is more than that, plus i live in one of the most expensive counties. Nothing is cheap here.

Rich_D
£300 actually, or £325 if you get the metal sump, which I did, all genuine ZF parts too Almost worth driving up here to get it done, even with the fuel costs LOL Edited September 4, 2015 by Rich_D
mjn
Oh, i got a full software update on the car as well, which was £150. So about £550 for the autobox oil, £150 software update.

MoreBHP
My pride & joy 330 has been laid up for a few months for planned full but very slow rebuild, the engine cooling system has been fully replaced with OeM parts with the exception of a ESP high flow water pump now snuggy fitted, today was spent rust treating both front discs, painted the carriers ready to receive rebuilt calipers running pagid pads. Jay.
after trying (and failing!) to install an ebay short shift kit in my 330, i've sacrificed the old bushing in the gearknob assembly, so i've just ordered a new one , as the gearshift now feels like moving a d**k in a wind sock. Ruesta
Thursday - crashed her - Topaz Blue 328Ci - very sad day..... Friday - stripped her of the easy to remove extra bits I added and replaced with originals. Sport seats, front headlight lenses, front indicators, rear LED lights, boot carpet, floor mats, and a few other bits n pieces. They wouldn't let me jack her up so couldn't get everything I wanted, but did fairly well I think. Saturday - Purchased her replacement - Imola Red 330Ci - very happy day!!
