Ordered the E30 a new Shrick camshaft :) I went for 272 degrees in the end. The higher lift ones could give a few more BHP, but all of the graphs I've seen show that they only make the extra power over about 5,000rpm (or whatever). Until then, they make less power, so the 272 seemed the best for daily driving. Add in the fact that there's no concern about the valve and the pistons hitting, and that swayed my opinion.

I also, finally, replaced the taped up boost pipe on the 330d. For a temporary fix carried out back in August in an underground car park in Helsinki, it lasted pretty well! It seemed like a fitting time to take it for a test drive, given it's a quiet Sunday morning. It's finally back to the old 330d I remember. It wasn't slow before, but no it's so much smoother and noticeably faster, despite feeling a bit slower (I guess it's a lack of 'punch' making it seem slower - in the same way my progressive RX-8 never felt fast either).

Leaking oil everywhere, but it held up well for several thousand miles!

And finally, who doesn't love some dirty car photos!? (Yes, it needs lows. Again.)

Considering it was last washed for incarnations (march?), i think it's quite clean

Not been on here in a while. I took my car to a bodyshop earlier in December to have a couple of bits done, the guy ended up doing quite a bit more for me than I expected, free of charge too! Including a mop down which really made the car look good, my dad and I both thought it looked like it just came out the showroom when we collected it.

Needs a bloody good clean and conditioning so it'll be coming out in stages for a full Gliptone session.

Will also need a bit of a scuff master.

Seat occupancy came on, however it's because I had switched it off in bmw scanner, all OK now though.

Need a matching gear surround (now ordered) and gaiters (again ordered)

Very happy
