mlund102
Hi, this is my firs post. I have already searched the forums for M3 seat wiring and I cant seem to find the answer/information I need. I have a 320 Ci with manual seats and I have just bought M3 electric heated seats. Two of the drivers seat plugs have been chopped (pics below). and the passanger seat wiring is all intact with 3 plugs (pics below). Drivers Seat: Passanger Seat: Does any one know what each plug does and how I can wire to my car which only has this plug pictured below? Iv read up on the forums that a live can be ran from the battery for the electric seats, but to where? Also where does the airbag etc plug into..... As you can tell I am baffled and any help would be great. Thanks!
mlund102
Also does anyone have any idea which plug is for the heated part of the seats?
neil278
looking at the last picture has it even got heated elements? I'm about to retrofit the wiring in for my heated seats so im sure I could help more over the next few days
mlund102
I bought the seats as heated electric. To be honest I'm not that fussed about the heated part anyway. Iv never seen the underside of heated seats so they may not even be heated after all. For the price I got them for I can't complain. I could ad another more detailed pic if the underside and maybe someone can tell me if they are heated. But any help is much appreciated. L333JSA
Are they definitely E46 M3 seats you've bought?
neil278
Ok someone has robbed some wires from the loom! Should look like this top is passenger side and then both left hand side parts of the connectors are for the heated part of the seat
L333JSA
They havent robbed them....they simply arent there. You need to put them in yourself. The connectors from the seats however don't look like they've come out of an E46 though - you should have an identical yellow female socket like you had on your old seats. neil278
since the connectors have been cut it might be better of checking the motors work before you spend any more money
L333JSA
Yup you're right they are. When I fitted my M3 seats they had a matching yellow female connector I just plugged my male connector in after adding the necessary wires. neil278
you can nick the yellow connector off the old seats
mlund102
Got full M3 interior with virtually no ware on the seats for £220. I know what your saying though, but I'm not sure which wires are the live or earth on the cut wires as some are purple n green n red and white etc. so wouldn't want to put power through unless anyone can tell me which wires I can do a test on. mlund102
If I took the connectors off the old seats which wires would I connect to where as the are different colours. The wires to the yellow plug don't look very thick at all so presume non of them have enough power running through them to power the motors on the M3 seats, if there is a powers cable there at all.
