Section for spotted on ebay/gumtree and others

Recommended Posts

Have seen quite a few threads recently in different sections on wheel, cars, parts etc spotted on ebay & gumtree and thought why not have a dedicated section where people can drop in links to items they've spotted and though may be of use to fellow zoners (or offer comical value)

It could also be used as a place for people to put up links of their own BMW parts for sale leaving the normal for sale section for proper adverts??

Just an idea :)

I think that's a pretty good idea :)

But I guess technically stuff on ebay should be in the for sale section

I'm sure it would be easy enough to have a subsection within the main for sale section for ebay finds and other external links so technically it would still be in the forsale section

For me one long thread would be too much to trawl through but then it would still be better than nowt. :)

Being self centered, I'm against it with eBay stuff. Why should I pay more in an auction because my eBa. bargain was pointed out to others?

If it's buy it now then fine, but that's just me being stingy with auctions!

I hear what your saying mate as I've often snapped up a bargain that may have gone south had it been on the zone but then just because someone puts a link doesn't mean everyones going to put a bid in LOL. Besides geniunely interesting adverts it could also be used to have a giggle at some of the really stupid adverts out there

I've come over from the e30zone and it worked really well on there, seeing the amount of threads on here thought it would work just aswell here.

I get your point fully too, but some of the bargins I've grabbed (like a set of G60 VW brakes with new discs and pads along with four calipers and front carriers for £88) would have been lost if it had ended up on a VW forum.

For the funny ones or BIN then I'd have no issue, but I know I'd be cross if I ended up paying more as someone with no interest in buying/selling the item posted it up.

Loads of other forums do this, its a great idea, as long as you don't plug your own stuff it works well :)

And here's the problem......hmmm !

You can usually tell if someone is plugging there own eBay account... Maybe even have a section where people add there eBay ID's? That way we know if were buying from a zoner?

Not sure what's wrong with plugging your own goods though, I'd rather see properly written adverts in the for sale section rather than just a link with 'now listed on ebay' , the section could be setup in the same way so that you have to be a subby to post up.

It's unlikely that all 23,000 BMW parts on ebay will be linked up so there is a slim chance that whatever bargain your trying to bag will still go unoticed, likewise someone may link up to something unusual that you hadn't spotted and want.
