[WARNING: German Content :D] My 318 Coupe

Recommended Posts

Guest FLotraxx

Before I forget my school English, I should join an international Forum.

Now I'm here and I'm very sorry if I'm writing in American and British English

Something about myself:

My name is Flo, I am 19 years old and from Germany / lower Saxony. I got the " BMW-Virus " from my dad, The first time I was sitting in a car was in his 525i E34. And guess what, now I have my own bimmer

-> In my town they call us " the BMW family" ...

My sisters 1 series is missing.

But the coupe is already my third car. Two months after I got my license, I sold my 1.4 Golf MK III and bought me a E36 318i touring for my 18 birthday. Unfortunately it was a piece of scrap and rust.

I own this coupe since january 2013. It's a pre-facelift with the old M43 (118hp) engine. This engine is famous for his gasket / oil problems. But this little fella is completly dry

Thats enough, let's switch to the bimmer

My modifications

Exterior

  • new exhaust -> Remus/FSW Group A
  • 330 steelies for the winter
  • pastidipped some things
  • other indicators and yellow fogs

Interior

  • new shift knob
  • wrapped the ashtray cover etc. in carbon look -> now it matches to the aluminium black cube
  • selfmade cupholder

I saw the coupe and it was bought

He had rust on tail plate and an ugly DTM-Style exhaust.

My first mods:

The Remus / FSW Group A is *Kitty approved *

Thanks mates. I already prefer this forum more then the german forums

I will put my dad's m parallels in a few weeks on my coupe just to look how it fits.

That are the Styling 37 with E39 specs 8x18 et20(225/40) and 9x18 et24(255/35). They fit without bodywork on his stock E91

I think with a nice tyrestretch they should fit on my coupe too.

Currently I'm watching for a nice pair of coilovers and I found out that the AP is the old KW V1 for around half the price ^_^

I almost went for APs on mine but was told by several sources that they are very harsh. I went with the next step up, Weitec Hicon GTs and the ride is actually very decent and of a better build quality. Unless of course you want a much stiffer ride?

What offsets are your BBS wheels FLotraxx? Are they replicas?

They are original BBS CH015 8,5x18 ET35 ;)

-----------------

The AP are stiffer that's right. The next cheaper and quit good coilovers would be the " DTS line " . A few years ago they were AP coils with different sticker. Today they are a bit different

A friend of mine had AP coils and exchanged them for the DTS. They are a bit smoother and he told me he can go lower with the DTS ....

Anyway I will buy this next year.

My plan for the next mods is:

  • repaint my 330 winter-steelis
  • installing my other BMW radio with aux
  • E36/Z4 Guide supports for a 8 - 10 mm drop in the front
