My bargain 330CD Sport

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, bought this a few months ago off a friend who wasn't using it. 2004 330CD sport, with 115k on the clock.

All mine for £3000

It had been sat around for nearly a year, so was serviced, had to change a couple of broken springs and a drop link to get it through its MOT. Since then its had brake disks and pads all round, and the front callipers replaced, full paint correction, 15mm spacers on the rear, some black grills and an eonon system should be arriving next week.

the future will involve a wheel refurb, they are scabby as hell right now and let the rest of the car down. An M3 interior will be on the cards too, either red or champagne. renew the suspension bushes, id like to lower it but undecided yet.

anyway, conditions weren't great today for taking pictures but here are a couple to start with.

You got a bargain there! I agree it's probably the best all round e46 model, but then I'm biased!

Keep your eyes peeled in the for sale section soon as I'll be selling my heated M3 champagne interior soon.

Thought I'd do a little review of the head unit now I've had it a few weeks.

I paid £210 delivered, arrived from Hong Kong in five days with tracking.

Looks speak for themselves, if you want something that looks like it came from bmw, then this has got to be one on your list.

Sound quality, I'm by no means a sound guru, so as far as I'm concerned it's better than the standard unit that was in it, but by no means brilliant, the speakers are the weak point now though for sure.

Features,

Radio wash shocking, I could barely get a reception until I pulled the unit back out today and disconnected the blue wire attached to the aerial. This has improved it ten fold and is now as good as the bmw unit in previously.

iPod and USB work well, I've just stuck them on shuffle and flick through tracks like I normally would, menu for them isn't fantastic, not easy to find specific songs etc.

Bluetooth is great, connects to my phone as soon as it turns on, phone book is stored on the unit and I can answer/hang up from the steering wheel. Sound quality is more than useable.

Sat nav, I'm just using the standard nav on it at the moment, works well enough, the menu isn't as nice to use as my tom tom, it just takes a little longer to work through etc, once you are on your way it's fine!

DVD is good too, I'll eventually hook it up to the screens in the back as it will be great for the kids to not have to use headphones (my kids are young and headphones at their age are quite frankly a pain in the arse...

The only thing I'm not happy with is the reflection from the screen during a bright sunny day, but I have no idea how I or they could make that better so it's not really a gripe as such.

Overall I'm very happy and think it's well worth the £210 I paid for it!

Alan.
