TriggerFish
Hi all, I went along to Kop Hill Climb outside Princess Risborogh on Sunday, for the third year running. It's a charity even with classic cars. There is a hill climb, but as it's on public roads, it's not timed or anything. The oldest car to run was from 1904 (110 y/o!), which I believe to be the one which caused road racing to be banned in the UK after it crashed and killed some spectators. Not sure a car with such a history is something I'd want to own personally... The newest car, was up to 1978, but mostly it's the older stuff that's on display. There's a huge number of Ausitn 7s (and derivatives), which really showed how popular they were, and how much difference they must have made to the motoring landscape in Britain before the war. Anyway, here's some photos. I didn't take loads though, but it's a good morning/afternoon out, esp. considering it's all for charity too, and no-one displaying/competing is paid. One of many E-types. Lovely cars though! _DSC1513 by JoeAlford, on Flickr And everyone loves a proper Mini! _DSC1516 by JoeAlford, on Flickr And I've always loved these since playing Rally Championship on the PC as a child. _DSC1518 by JoeAlford, on Flickr _DSC1519 by JoeAlford, on Flickr _DSC1520 by JoeAlford, on Flickr _DSC1521 by JoeAlford, on Flickr Check out the front wheels - who needs brakes?! TriggerFish
Yeah, it's a good show. Not big enough to take a whole day, but easy enough to while away an afternoon, and it's right on my doorstep. Not too close to Huddersfield though! Sam
Ah joe, we've been the last 2 years and missed this one due to a holiday. Looks good, and a nice change being close from Goodwood etc. Saw JK last year strolling around, a few of his cars there too. No one seemed to bother him which was nice. Got a photo somewhere. Next year, eh?
TriggerFish
It was quite a lot bigger than last years. I don't really remember the year before that, I had a cold and felt crap. Doesn't surprise me as he lives locally. I'd not bother him as a), I dunno what he looks like, , he seems a douche from what I've seen on TV! Next year indeed, hopefully with E30 in tow TOOM
