Sam Raju's Msport Coupe 2.2

Recommended Posts

So I've recently joined the forum as I bought myself an 320 facelift coupe Msport which I have to say is AMAZING!! It's my second car and far better than my old mk4 golf which is now sitting on the drive way.

Thought I'd get some pictures up of the e46 but I'll start with a few of the golf.

As you can see it was slammed on it's arse. Just over 120mm drop all round.

I then decided it was time to grow up and so the BMW came along.

Her she is when I went to pick her up

I can't believe how smooth the drive on these are. I really can't tell you how much I love it but then again anything would have been better than a stupidly slammed golf.

So once it was home there were a few things that needed sorting so this was next....

The badges were changed to black carbon on the front and rear.

I then went and put in a set of H.I.Ds since I hate the yellow glow they usually give off.

I then went a resprayed my lower grill as it started to go grey.

The gear knob badge was really bad and had come off so obviously had to get that changed.

I then went and retrimmed by steering wheel trim. The black plastic had scratches and started peeling so thought why not match it to the rest of the trim.

Doing the bottom wasn’t too bad but when it came to the top half it wasn’t easy getting it around those buttons. Couldn’t work how they come off so left them in place when I did it. Didn’t come out too bad for my first wrap.

And then back in the car

I’ve just got a new badge for the bottom but it’s about a millimetre too big so I’ll have to trim it down a bit and also got a black badge for the centre of the steering wheel to match the exterior badges.

So far that’s it.

Plans are:

· Respray rear bumper, front bumper, bonnet and wings.

· Hopefully bag it next year along with wheels.

· I may change the interior to something darker as having light leather and being a mechanic doesn’t really go too well. £600 for a whole trim in Ferrari leather isn’t too bad I guess but I’ll see how that goes.

· A full audio setup is needed too.

Completely forgot to add a bit in so here it is.

I was never really a fan of halos until I saw a picture on Instagram of a lovely e46 and thought yes I need those!! So I messaged the guy and ordered myself a set :D

Headlights removed

Split them which wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be.

Halo now fitted in.

Everything back on the car. Including my private plate.

I love the way they look but when it gets dark they’re not a solid circle like they are during the day due to being way too bright so trying to work out what to do to dim them down at night.

You can see here that they start blurring at night.

Nice car buddy. Where did you get your black grills from? How did you find the fitment? I know there a lot of sets out there with a really bad fitment.

Thanks. I used the originals. Sanded them down and sprayed them. I did get some from a local placed called MStyle but didn't realise how different they looked so returned them. They need a good respray though.

Looking good - Black suits the e46 no end!

Where can you get re-trimming your interior so cheap?

Cheers mate.

I'm a technician at a Mazda dealership so we know a few people. He usually does our Mazda 6's for £600. Seats and door cards.

Are rise black badges the ones with the gel layer on top, or just bare metal? If so, where did you get them from?

The ones one the exterior of the car? They're bare metal. I bought them from eBay. Just type in e46 carbon badge and you should get a load come up.

You said your local to mstyle. Same here I went to the met they had back in the summer (although I took my r32 skyline not a BMW hahaha). Also my old e46 was on air so if you want any advise let me know.

Didn't know they hold meets. Think I'll go next time. Cheers will do.

Looking good! Definitely a fan of the angel eyes. Considering blacking out the interior of the lights? Coming along well

I've seen a few done and it does look good but not too sure if I want to do that.

Hi and a belated welcome! Only a few months late! I seemed to have missed your first posts.

Looking good! Do you have a 320i to keep the insurance down due to age or something? I also have a 320i but most people go for the 325i or 330i for the power.

If you don't have it for insurance purposes, have a think how much money you want to plough into it as if you are going to get bored of the power, you might want to get a 330i to modify instead. Just the voice of experience!

By you saying it's your second car I get the impression you are young and insurance is an issue, at which point the 320i makes perfect sense!

I'm watching this thread with interest!
