grantmacdee
To speed things up, I was going to get a car on finance, but I started a new job where I'm travelling 35-40 miles each way 5 days a week so I wanted to get a so called run a round work horse. I have always loved E36's and I owned a coupe a couple years ago. So this was on my shopping list and with a last minute budget of £500 plus taxing the car I found my current car...... Didn't fancy an E36 diesel so for now I have a 318 touring, had 144K on the clock, not a spot of rust on the exterior or engine bay. I do a bit of photography so should hopefully be able to keep this updated with photos! So the car... Grant's E36 by GMDOnline, on Flickr As it stands I have bought a full service kit, anti freeze, water pump, thermostat, wishbones, bushes, anti roll bar bushes. Oh and a set of aero blades! This all needs to be fitted but I have just not had the time yet but should be done over the next few weeks. I have some HID's coming at christmas and should have a set of angel rings from my mate James who works over at M Style in Essex. I have a tonne of plans in my head so I have no idea wether I'm coming or going but maintenance will always be sorted as I need it for work regardless.. So lets see where it ends up! Jay.
Nice mate - same as what I did. Well - I had a 20 grand 3 series coupe on finance. As gorgeous as it was & I felt such a baller driving it, nothing quite so humbling as driving a 500 quid snotter, knowing its paid for & don't care where you leave it etc. This is why I love my 'loon. Look forward to your progress
grantmacdee
Ha I get to drive all the new Audi's at work I always think I'm gonna hate my car when I get back in, but soon as I've sat down again I'm a happy bunny! Rob-
Not what I'd buy as a run around but a rare car nonetheless. Don't see many e36 tourings on the road, even when they were new.
grantmacdee
Well I bought it for a run around as it cost peanuts to buy and peanuts to fix and it's not the most fuel guzzling car in the world and I love an e36 so.. Anyway after looking online and seeing a number of different versions of pollen filter changes, it was under the drivers footwell behind the centre console and voila heres what we pulled out! 136A1198 by GMDOnline, on Flickr Much better, the heating smells nicer and is a lot stronger! More stuff soon
