barachello
The wife has arrived home and told me that there was a bang under the car,and then the exhaust sounded very loud. Went out and had a look and found this I am assuming that there is no way to repair it by welding due to the lack of good metal there, but just wanted to check I am after the correct replacement part lol The car is a 2001 320d 136bhp This is what ECP threw uphttp://www.eurocarparts.com/mobile/ecp/c/BMW_3+Series_2.0_2001/p/car-parts/car-body-parts-and-car-exhaust/exhausts/catalytic-converter/?724110130&1&d8d659b0c8182afc6dbfe392d3fb69fb0e70739e&000059 Thanks Sent from my Nexus 10 using Tapatalk
alan53
At least its a cheapish part, probably cost nearly as much to get someone to weld - it if possible.

Jim27
Was that just for the connecting section of pipe? Edit- just checked the ECP link. Nice and cheap(ish) fix then Edited December 21, 2014 by Jim27

barachello
Right bit of an update. I have fitted the one from ECP, but as it is round, and the original was oval in shape, I find that it sits lower and is catching on a few speedbumps. Anyone else experienced anything similar? alan53
I havent worked on these so i am guessing, can you bend or adjust the mountings to hold it up more?
barachello
I was afraid of doing that in case it put extra pressure on the joints Sent from my Nexus 10 using Tapatalk
