jamesfoley
Bored on a bank holiday Monday. I really enjoy cleaning my car, so I figured I'd try and make her cleaner and picked up a clay bar this morning. Here is an album of the end result http://imgur.com/a/mLEzh Really happy with how it turned out, all the paintwork is silky smooth now. The photos don't really show off the car very well, and the car doesn't really look cleaner in them than it does in previous photos, but hey, its a photo thread so figured I'd add some more. jamesfoley
Finally got my spacers fitted and I'm amazingly happy with how it looks. Image probably doesn't show much, but I picked up a set of 15mm spacers for the rear from Jay here on the forum, and I got another set of 12mm spacers for the front along with new bolts and locking bolts. Jay.
Looking good James, however a better photo angle needed
jamesfoley
Cheers Jay. I'll take a drive tomorrow and see if I can find a place to snap a couple of photos that don't suck
jamesfoley
Just a quick question, should I worry about the cooling system failing? It has been popping up during my usual internet browse and figured it wouldn't harm asking. The car is at 81k miles.
B0B
If it's not using coolant and the temps are stable I wouldn't worry. You can always check the condition of your rad by looking at the bottom edge to see if it's starting to sag.
jamesfoley
Alright, cheers for that B0B. Temps have always been stable but I'll start keeping a close eye on the coolant level.
LiamGTR
If you listened to all the horror stories about cars on the net you'd end up owning bicycle haha.
jamesfoley
Things have been a little slow as I'm moving into my first house in about three weeks time, but here are some photos anyway. Oh, something I have done since I last posted was replace the side repeaters as they were all yellowed. LiamGTR
Where did you get them from? Ideally I should change mine too, especially if I ever wanna see it, they're quite yellow/mouldy
jamesfoley
I actually just bought a pair from ebay as they were rather cheap, so if they were crap when they arrived it didn't really matter. Turns out they seem pretty solid and look like the originals that came off. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261583335971
LiamGTR
Simple enough to replace I'm assuming?
jamesfoley
Yup, they're sprung loaded, you just slide them towards the front of the car and they pull out. The bulb holder just twists out of the back and into the new one.
jamesfoley
Every time I clean it I feel the need to take a photo as it looks too good...
jamesfoley
Actually now might be a good idea to ask a couple of questions. Is it possible to program out the ability to open the boot with the key while the car is locked? I keep hitting the button in my pocket and coming back to a car with the boot open. Does anyone know of someone that can program my car in the Cambridge area?
LiamGTR
Your boot actually opens physically when you press the unlock? How hard are you hitting it in your pocket!? Mine needs a firm press.
jamesfoley
I'm not really sure, pocket pressing was just an assumption. But it doesn't open out, it just pops up so anyone can come past and lift it up.
RickyZ
You can get the car programmed for a double press of the button to open the boot Try dropping Triggerfish a PM as i know he has it
jamesfoley
What would be the best route of getting some small dents out of my bonnet? Getting them pushed out, getting them filled and painted, or finding a cheap bonnet in the same colour? I found them while cleaning it the other day. They're ever so slight, but its the fact that I know they are there now and see them every time I look at the car
