twobigdogs Report post Posted May 8, 2015 Just had letter from BMW saying airbag supply is in and to book in at a dealer for work. Car booked in next week and they said they would do a free inspection report and clean the car as well. How good is that?

StuBeeDoo Report post Posted May 8, 2015 they said they would do a free inspection report and clean the car as well Letting a BMW dealership loose on a 8+ year old car? Expect a long list of "defects" then. .....And as for letting them clean it - how much care do you think they're going to take of your "old car", even if it's in remarkably good condition? FAB_BMW Report post Posted May 8, 2015 they said they would do a free inspection report and clean the car as well Letting a BMW dealership loose on a 8+ year old car? Expect a long list of "defects" then. .....And as for letting them clean it - how much care do you think they're going to take of your "old car", even if it's in remarkably good condition? Vines BMW in redhill took in my 11 year old E46 touring. They did the rust on the rear quarter under warranty, did the air bag recall, then did a mechanical report on it and all they pulled up was stuff I already knew, which was 3 items. Did a bloody good job cleaning it inside and out too, and honestly treated me like it was a brand new car. Can't sing their praises enough. I think it depends on the dealership, as on the flip side. Cooper BMW Croydon used to service my E36 when it was the same age, and they tried to stitch me up for £1200 worth of work that didn't need doing, and left my car covered in salty water marks. 1 Phantom Mark reacted to this
TriggerFish Report post Posted May 8, 2015 They didn't highlight anything on my car when it went in, despite having the brake pad wear light on (crappy sensors). That was specialist cars in Cow Roast (Tring). Pretty good service as far as I'm concerned - they even let me keep the 420d overnight too. 1 Phantom Mark reacted to this
bennno2005 Report post Posted May 8, 2015 Rybrook Shrewsbury did mine. They noted a few things I knew needed attention and did an excellent job of washing mine! 2 stahl320 and Phantom Mark reacted to this
richie19 Report post Posted May 8, 2015 I had mine done at specialist cars in stevenage, They did offer a wash and vac but i declined, glad i did as i literally waited 30 mins for them to fit the airbag, didn't do any other checks though 1 StuBeeDoo reacted to this
dunk1 Report post Posted May 9, 2015 Depends on the dealer as to the service you get, some will be much better than others in all areas 1 StuBeeDoo reacted to this

twobigdogs Report post Posted May 9, 2015 Well at the end of the day it is costing me nothing and if they find any faults it's only info that I may or not know. And a free wash. The car is 14 years old but it is in good condition so I'm quite happy! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
