mRd
Hey guys I'm back with my new E46 323ci in Topaz Blue born on 10/1999. Won this car on ebay for £875.99. The car was not driven for over a year. Since 10/2013 till 10/2014 has done less than 2000miles. The car came with both keys, service history. It does have some nice extras: Early BMW SatNav Electric memory seats Leather interior Harmon Kardon sound system R18 MV2's All tinted windows Wooden trims (Not too sure if I like it lol) Personalised number plate As I just picked it up today in London I have no idea of the actual condition of the car, but it drives fine, the engine sounds very good no weird noises, the previous owner said that he had no issues with the car before he abandoned it, I've checked the car service history and all I can say that the guy was looking after it .. I booked it already for an MOT so fingers crossed want to see whats going to happen. Bad bits already known: Instrument cluster indicates that the boot lid is open (but it's shut) The boot wouldn't open , even when trying to press the button on the key nothing would happen, the only way to open it is with the key. Does anyone know what the problem might be? And what's the best cleaner would be for my interior as the seats and door cords needs a good clean. The exhaust is giving vibration Here's some pictures from the ad: Edited August 9, 2015 by mRd CharlE46 and The Laird

MRyan
The bootlid issue could be a microswitch by the sounds of things? If its faulty and thinks the boots open, it may not actuate the latch! I'm not sure how you'd get it open manually but there has to be a way.

Grant Pearson
Hello mate, I have a 325 with the same issue with the boot. Its more than likely the microswitch, but could be a torn wire from the boot latch, https://m.youtube.com/results?q=e46%20boot%20sensor&sm=1 hope this helps
