bigboijr
Hi guys, Just want to introduce myself. My names Jay and im not new to this site but to the E46 forum. I owned a E90 320D a few years back and loved it. Ive owned many cars over the years and have now settled down with a X reg E46.Although i own a 4 pot, I am genuinely impressed by this model to the E90's. Anyways... I bought her last month, she had 90K on the clock, was in great condition besides the common rust on the arches. She came pretty equipped internally but only M sport alloys externally. I plan on keeping this car for a good few years so the mods had to start As i got her after a good clean... Next was to paint the kidney grills Matt black, I was contemplating keeping the chrome but it did not look well so Matt it was... So then now i was a bit iffy whether to paint the calipers red, blue or just keep them standard. I decided i wanted the red Plans are to face lift the front end but for now want to keep it as fresh and OEM looking as possible. White angel eyes (Ordered) Chrome speedo dial rings (Ordered) Install A rooted tablet as a doubledin headunit Replace all speakers Refurb M sport alloys M sport Bumpers and Skirts Red interior E90 door handle Led feature Upgrade the exhaust system. bigboijr
Ok a bit of an update, Ive had a lot on recently so back to the drawing board... Firstly i had a mad engine noise every time i started the car, found out the secondary air intake was had an air leak. Then managed to get my angel eyes fitted... Then started on the interior... I must say i am really happy with the results Heres a before and after picture, i really hated the look of it before, so fitted the dial rings and the red needle mod. Now all was left to do was to paint the interior trim to modernise the car a bit more... You would never think this car was made in 2000... Heres a better pic So next on the list is memory front seats but need to keep the heated seats feature, install my Android tablet in the double din space and fabricate it. Then upgrade the sound system
The_Judge_
Good progress, did you just spray the interior trim? Looks better, I'm not sure about the silver on the bottom half of the steering, but maybe it's just how the pic looks on my tablet. I'll be interested in your tablet idea, how are you going to fabricate a surround for it? P.s. you may want a refurbed sterring wheel from Royals, it will help even more by eliminating that shiny leather look, and make it more comfortable, z I'm not ready for the expense just yet though (!) bigboijr
So I've been a bit busy and havent had much time to deal with the car. First thing that was really bugging me was the ugly bronze/ brownish m43 engine rocker. So I decided to give it a different look. BEFORE AFTER Was a fairly easy job and makes a bigg difference to the overall look although the Engine bay needs a good clean Edited October 5, 2015 by bigboijr The_Judge_
bigboijr
Then got my hands on a damaged front Msport bumber for £20. Thought I'd try my luck, repair and spray it myself to test my skills and see how it turns out... bigboijr
Progress is a bit slow at the moment. Car failed its MOT due to a missing wheel bolt, headlight aim, and rear o/s handbrake... Have given it a good service and my mpg has shot up which is good. Still searching for a pair of decent wings and a rear msport bumper As for the front bumper, I found it on Gumtree mate... Lucky find.
