Super Charging build thread.

Recommended Posts

I've owned my CS for a few months now, really enjoyed it, have done a few things just to bring it up to a good standard before I started this build.

Car had 55k on it and just needed the usual things like polybushes, brakes, braided lines, DISA valve and a good service.

It came with 19" CSL reps and although they look the nuts I wanted a sleeper. So bought a set of stock wheels from another forum member and slapped on some Pirelli P-Zero's.

Car now looks almost stock, except the shadow chrome wheels. These will eventually get put back to silver. Has a M3 strut brace, Stainless back box and front and rear H&R ARB's.

Also had the steering wheel re-trimmed as my hands were getting sweaty during track days 4f341c9b72a2ff800c642b9d41f1fdec.jpg

So this now leads me onto the Super Charging build thread, why bother spending all that money, just buy a M3. Well I don't want an M3, arrive at a track day there will be at least 5 other M3's, won't see another CS, and personally I'm not a fan of the stigma that goes with M3 ownership.

Read a lot about all the SC kits on the market, I was looking for a bolt on kit, that looks, and sounds as stock as possible. The fact my sister-in-law lives about 40 minutes from VF Engineering and that there kit looks almost stock and the price is also very good is why I've chosen it.

It is being delivered by my wonderful sister in law in about a week when she's back for xmas. I will update this thread with the build progress as it happens [emoji106]

I have the kit now, the quality looks superb, the plastic hard pipes are very well made, everything has been sealed or shrink wrapped.

Even comes with new plugs and spare oil for future SC services.

Just need to get all the coolant system parts I'm planning on replacing at the same time. Installation will happen over the xmas break.

Will be downloading the ECU file from my car and sending it to VF Engineering in the next week, this means I'll have the new map all ready to upload to the car once it's all fitted [emoji106]

Well it's not cheap, but then reliable power never is.

$4500 which works out around £3k.

That includes the cable and gizmo required for downloading and uploading of the maps, this also give you the ability to read codes and do all the other odds and sods that having a proper code reader/scanner allows.

* UPDATE *

I suggest if your installing this kit you also purchase the following items, just makes sense as your removing them all anyway.

You'll also need new coolant, some cable ties, and a lot of patients as it is extremely fiddly getting all this to fit into the engine bay.

Got stuck into the build today.

Hadn't planned on fitting a new rad, but after draining the coolant system and stripping it all back, the rad has swollen at the bottom. So decided to bite the bullet.

Ordered up a new rad, expansion tank, and fitted the water pump and thermostat I already had ready to go.

Also popped in the bigger injectors. The CCV is showing signs of weeping so have also ordered a new one.

So on hold again for now. There's a lot to strip off, bumper, lights, plus all the parts I've just mentioned. It's a big job :0

Having an issue with one bolt for the charger mount not being long enough, and the power steering reservoir bracket isn't working so will have to come up with a new plan.

Thanks guys. Got a it further today, the higher rated spark plugs are in, all the CCV junk is off, what a pain that was, didn't break any of it, wanted to keep as spare incade I broke the new one upon instal lol

Going to mod my new one and fit some flexible rubber hose instead of all that corrugated brittle crap.

Have come up with a plan for the power steering reservoir bracket too.

Going to a local fixings place in the search for a longer bolt for the alternator bracket.

Should see some proper progress over the weekend, as long as I don't drink too many beers [emoji106]

Done well this afternoon. Got s longer bolt so was able to properly Mock it all up.

For anyone reading this in the future.

Fit the intake pipe to the charger before fitting the charger into the engine, also remove the panel that encloses the ECU box area, makes doing up the jubilee clips ALOT easier [emoji106]

New injectors fitted, all new CCV junk back in, the middle plastic hose I junked in favor of some rubber tubing, makes routing it onto the new intake pipe lots easier too.

Will take a load more pictures tomorrow.
