Super Charging build thread.

Well, it starts, idles, and there's no leaks. Test drive tomorrow.

It's sold as a virtually silent super charger, it is quiet when off idle, but on idle it's a noisy bugger, the gearbox built in it when not loaded makes the noise, that's my only complaint so far.

There have been several upgrades to the package over the years, but unfortunately the instructions haven't been revised, so it can be very confusing at times. But on the whole it's a very well engineered kit.

I'd assume it'll just run massively lean? (Which can be very dangerous, I think?)

Interesting to find out though!

I sent off my ECU file before I started, they've since mapped it to suit and sent it back, I've uploaded it onto my ECU already.

The kit comes with a EOBD lead, CD rom file which you load onto your laptop.

You just need to tell them what mods you have, fuel you plan to run and they do the rest.

Obviously not as good as a proper dyno session but it's a bloody good start [emoji106]

Looks like a nice neat install, will be interesting to see what power it delivers now. Great work ?

That looks very tidy, very much OE. I guess there is no way to connect the standard air intake?

Looking forward to driving impressions and possible dyno results. Great job.

No the new supplied K&N filter is buried down there

And the standard air intake now directs cool air over the super charger.

That looks very tidy! If it was mine I'd be itching to drive it haha.

Hearing what it's like to drive now will be interesting :)

Didn't take it out this morning as I had a skinfull last night at a party, just been out on a 30 minute test drive, unfortunately the roads are very wet.

It drives just like a stock car except with more power, there's virtually no noise from the charger, it really just feels stock, but faster.

I was hoping for more punch, it's incredibly linear power right up to the redline, I suppose at 6psi it's not going to feel like my old Impreza, but it certainly shifts, was into 3 figure speeds before I even new it.

i love that stock feel, just keeps on giving :D feels mental when you get to redline, but like you say no kick like a turbo (which i prefer)

Looking good mate, I don't get how they can map a ecu to suit to mods and fuel though without being on a dyno or a road where your driving the car and they adjust accordingly as every car is different when it drives, with the timing fueling etc

much prefer a rolling road map to see what's happening when it's driving on the new map etc

Well obviously that's the best way to get it done.

The only way I can explain it, if you took your turbo'd car and got it chipped, that's the same as having the ECU flashed.

Read up on the company, they're not a Micky mouse fly by night company, this kit, as have all there kits, been through many many hours of testing and development.

Just pop in VF Engineering into YouTube and enjoy the videos, especially the Lamborghini and R8 ones [emoji106]

For what you get, I think that's a good price. Something I would be tempted with doing in the future for sure.

You know my thoughts on that Garry ;)

Getting ready for the Dyno on Saturday [emoji106]

Added a little cold air feed for the dyno and trackdays [emoji106]

Was given a corroded set of fog lights from another forum member, I removed the glass and alloy back part.

Sprayed some mesh black and stuck it on with some black silicone. Works a treat [emoji106]

Makes me want to do it to my car....  Only problem is it's a 325 with 164k lol

325 bit doesn't bother me as it's the car I want it to be (read invested too much) just the mileage...
