New member- 320d touring kind of new to bmw

Recommended Posts

Hi all, had my 320d for about a month now needed a second car for commuting and decided it had to be an e46, always liked them.

Anyway not new to forums and I will try to give back as much as I take once I get up to speed on bmw's, this is my first but I am a qualified vehicle tech and car nut, so just trying to get up to speed.

Anyway here's a pic of the bus, already done a couple of bits wrapped trims inside and discs pads and a caliper (siezed) :(

Thanks! Yeah that's the plan, I was thinking of getting the smoked corners for it to match the headlights, some colour coded door handles too.

Also considering a facelift bonnet I've seen it done and looks quite good I think

Makes a massive difference.

Not sure if you are aware of potential 320d "Weak areas".. The "Swirl Flaps" need to be blanked - Perfect time to clean out all the oily crud from the intake manifold.

When your there it's a good time to blank the EGR valve to help keep the intake as clean as possible.

The the oil breather filter should be changed from the old "loo roll style" to the "vortex filter" that came on there new E46.

Cheers

Yeah I'm aware of most I think, did quite a lot of research before buying. I'm pretty sure I don't have swirl flaps as I have the earlier engine m47 I believe 136bhp one? Does the vortex filter still count though?

Cheers
