Tewkes
I have just removed all my interior trims and wrapped 3 pieces. By the time I was doing my forth the first had started to looks tatty and not sticking well. So I've ripped everything off and I've noticed it's taken a top layer off 1 or 2 bits which feels rubbery and underneath very plastic. I have heard some horror stories of paint reacting to this, so what's the best way to remove this texture and then paint? The vinyl wrap I bought was absolutely dire quality. Thanks. Tewkes
Anybody? Has anyone removed the texture? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
alan53
I read somewhere that it can be scrubbed off using hot water / soap and something like a nail brush if that helps .
Mugs
i have just done the ashtray door to tidy it up and i used standard thinners (from my local car paint supplier) and a rag. it came off after about 5 mins of rubbing and did no damage to the plastic underneath. it also managed to rub off the chrome strip but it looks a lot better than the peeling rubber. Mugs
sorry, the flash has gone on my camera phone and i can't get a photo that's bright enough to see anything. all i can say is that it does work. you can get paint thinners from halfrauds but it's overpriced. if you can get to a car paint supplier then you can get 5ltrs for under £20.
