proshaft
I've been given the opportunity to buy a decat downpipe for a reasonable price. However, I'm no mechanic. How difficult is the job, is it a manifold and turbo out process? Secondly, I've diagnosed a lambda fault. How difficult is this job? Thanks Edited April 15, 2017 by proshaft
mjn
The lambda sensor fits into the decat pipe, you can do both jobs at the same time. For mine, i looked at the restricted access and predicted scraped knuckles. Paid my Indy to do it.
proshaft
Thanks. It's restricted access, but manifold and turbo out first?
TriggerFish
No need to remove either. I dropped the whole exhaust (breaking the car) from below. Remove the heat shields and you can get a long socket up underneath to access the two bolts on the exhaust. I think you'll need another person to stop the nuts from spinning from above though. There was no lambda sensor either. (2002 184bhp)
TriggerFish
Oh, getting the old cat (or few year old decat pipe in my case) off the rest of the exhaust looked like it would be a lot of 'unfun'.
