Baz2435
So today the Vert has decided to add another thing to the list of things that are outstanding. Needed to do shocks and springs. Needed to do the front wing as it has started to bubble up. This morning the head unit decided that it wouldn't work. It doesnt illuminate and buttons don't work. However the last radio station selected is still playing and the steering wheel controls work. Any ideas of a straight forward (inexpensive) way to sort this out? Ruesta
Have you tried disconnecting it from battery, or just disconnecting battery for a bit?. When I had trouble with my head unit in my previous 328ci thats exactly what I did and it came back to life. It was advice given to me by a guy on line who repairs / upgrades BM54 units. Baz2435
Cheers I checked the fuses. Both looked okay. However after replacing them the unit worked fine. In effect I just disconnected it. Who is the unit upgrader?

Either get on ebay and search BM54 or there's an on-line company called carphonics - http://www.carphonics.co.uk/bm54.htm They can add amp pre-outs, aux in, upgrade the amplifiers and fix the usual probs.
