Well finally have my clutch

And basically it’s a work of art, rated to 1500bhp so should be future proof when I fit a bigger turbo in a few years [emoji12]

Had a chance to test fit the engine over the weekend, all very tight, and a few things will need changing, but all coming along well [emoji106]

Yeah I know, I want to hang it in my lounge, not hide it inside a bell housing 🤣

Well almost ready to fit it now, had to add a flex joint to the wastegate

Then spent many many hours wrapping the manifold and down pipe

And re-wired all the coil packs, as well as turning then 90 degrees for extra clearance, plus I then fabricated an alloy heat shield and wrapped it in fibreglass heat reflecting tape.

Oaft, this thing is weapons grade now mate, It’s gonna be fun next time you hit the track. wish i’d known your charger was up for grabs though, I’d have had that off you. I’ve just got an Eaton M90 short snout from a Jag XJR to lob on mine for a project.

Getting closer to actually starting it up now, just need to make up some intercooler pipes, a full exhaust and a couple of other tweaks.

Made a few more changes to the M50 manifold in the hope of keeping heat soak to a minimum

It’s all very tight, had to use a large hammer and install some designer dents but it’s in [emoji108][emoji106]

Seriously snug fit right there!

Looking really good though, nice clean install, love it!

What engine mounts are they ?

What you thinking exhaust wise? Single 3inch system ?

Go straight out of the top of the bonnet for the exhaust!

Seriously, nice work there! Air intake going down into fog light intake area?

Thanks guy, I’ve beenlook no into exhausts, and no it’s not going straight out the Bonnet lol

Like it looking stock, and after looking into the cross sectional areas of a single 3” and a dual 2”

The formula to work out cross section is π X R2

So for a 3" the CSA (cross sectional area) is;
π X (1.5 X 2) = 9.42"^2

For 2" it is
π X (1x2) = 6.28"^2
With twin exhaust it would be 12.56"^2

Quite a difference [emoji6]

So I’m going twin [emoji106]

Doesn’t look like I’ve enough room to get a 90 bend on the front of the turbo, with headlight fitted I’ve about 2.5” :(

Going to look into a custom K&N or may just end up with a Turbo Guard screen.

You might see issues with torque recoil under load and it bashing the bodywork and steering bits (possibly cracking things quite quickly), the clearances look very small. Worth keeping an eye on when it's running and thinking about solid mounts as a backup

I’m looking into shimming drivers side up a bit, there’s about 3mm from steering coupler, and 8mm from chassis leg so that’s ok with the poly mounts as they are pretty solid anyway.

Been busy doing lots of little things, finished wiring up the HPX blow though MAF

229f75443c6dd01324663ce9043384ad.jpg

And really got stuck into the welding (not me but hired help)
72291f2d18f7cade32f4af0a89aa379c.jpg

I had purchased a DIRENZA stainless exhaust from eBay, fully expecting the fit to be terrible, but looks the part and will save a lot of fabrication time.

ebedea419ebd882459399c30dd3d9f93.jpg

And I was right, the hangers were to short on the rear silencer and it was pulled up tight to the rear valance, touches the fuel tank, didn’t clear the gearbox cross member, and was generally terrible.

But some chopping, cutting welding and a few hours later all was good. Staggered the exhaust tips too, and also brought them closer together as the supplied tips made it look goofy

Primed the turbo with oil, connected the battery, and turned the key.

It only fired straight up as if nothing had been changed 🤪[emoji12]

I wonder what the fueling and stuff is doing? I guess that's all over the place?

Great news that it fired up though - you must have been pleased! Well done!

I'm Loving the ginger tom in the picture man - We've got two house cats and they're into everything!

Loving the build, I've got a 6mps that's now at 595bhp (wheels) on the dyno.... You'll have a lot of fun in this no doubt" :)

After you've run this beast in you've gotta try it with aT66 Hybrid - contact forged down in gloucester about an anti lag system and this thing will sing (as long a you can squeeze the T66 in to the space
