Hedly86
Hello, I’ve got some new wheels to go on my 330ci. And as the thread title says, the tears are 18” 9j et38. Ive had a search about on google and on this forum and I’m not entirely sure what tyre specs to use. General consensus seems to be a 245/35/R18. I just want to double that’s going to be ideal before I open my wallet? Car’s on coilivers but the arches aren’t modified/rolled.
Daz 330 Cs
9J ET38 will be fine with the right tyre. I’d even go 235/35. Ps. The rear isn’t a coilover, it’s a separate spring and shock.
Hedly86
Do you think a 245/35 could work if I adjusted the ride height at the back and maybe added a bit of camber? I’m struggling to find a set of 235/35’s with the correct load index.
Daz 330 Cs
It’s possible, i don’t want to say yes go for them, then you have issues with rubbing. I wouldn’t worry too much about load index, 235/35 on a 9J is fine, not even a stretch.
Daz 330 Cs
So I’ve just looked on Will They Fit.com, I ran 245/35 ET45 on a 9.5J, according to that site, a 235/35 ET38 on a 9J will poke less than 1mm more than my set up. So I’d say yes they’ll be fine. Edited April 1, 2018 by Daz 330 Cs

Hedly86
Arh, yeh I used that calculator when I was working on the presumption that 245 would suffice. So if I get some with a load index of 90 you think it’ll be fine? I think regularly it’s anything over 91 that’s recommend.
