Not sure there's many LSD owners left on here tbh..

Have you tried Opie for a suggestion?

I'm just on Opie's site now and it doesn't mention LSD's, i've popped my

reg in and its come up with my car and lists one option of Motul Gear 300 synthetic 75w90

Just spoke to my local BMW dealer and its £35 for 1 litre !!! the diff holds 1 litre

He's just told me its sealed for life set up on those so should i bother changing it ?

That'll be standard open diff oil, not LSD oil.

Standard diffs are supposed to be sealed for life but most people replace the oil anyway as the fill/drain plugs are relatively accessible.

I would imagine LSD oil would be different to standard crappy diff oil.

He got the oil from my chassis number so i can't see that being wrong, i'm not

paying £35 a litre for it thats for sure. i'll speak to Noel at NCB Autokraft and see

what he recommends

Ok, so to confirm - you have a standard, open diff or an aftermarket LSD (Quaife/Gripper etc..)?

No E46 comes with an LSD apart from the M3 from factory.

If it's the standard diff then this should do - it's what I put in mine.

I've had a search but thought i'd get your input on what oil you use in the lsd diffs

2004 330 Ci M sport

Hi,

Has your E46 got the factory fitted LSD option or have you fitted an aftermarket LSD? The 330Ci M Sport does not come as standard with an LSD.

Regards

Jack

Unless you’ve swapped an m3 diff and subframe into your 330 it will be very unlikely you have an LSD. Ive added a quaife into mine and it runs fully synthetic 75w-90 differential oil. Clutch type LSDs run different oil where as helical gear’d ones use standard open diff oil. Hope that helps [emoji106]
