Melting Feet

3 posts in this topic

Hello, hope some one can offer some insight on my fault.

It only seems prevalent when the ambient temp drops below freezing. When it does, unless my HVAC is set to 16 I get air hot enough to strip paint directed at my feet and windscreen, also comes out of the dash vents but I can adjust these with the rotary switch.

Based on my knowledge of how the heating system works I’m considering a gunged up mixer valve.  Problem is that it only happens when it’s sub zero. Or a faulty interior temp sensor which seems unlikely as the climate control works great in the summer, and the fault has persisted through a change of controls to the updated version.

Ta!

ok quick update, I’m a doer not a thinker so i took the valve off and dismantled it, stripped more than one of the screws reassembling so now I’ve bypassed it with a bit of pipe, awaiting a pre loved example to arrive from the bay!
