ABS and DSC help.

Recommended Posts

Recently became the owner of a 2002 BMW 325i Saloon. Everything is good with the car, only 2 small patches of rust on the rear arches.

I was having a bit of fun going home from work and ended up wheel spinning a lot and accidently swinging the back end out on a roundabout. Long story short the ABS and DSC isn't on and I am looking at ways to fix this.

So I started with the dashboard light test. I am missing a few lights: DSC (Sharpied by the lions of it ****ers.), ABS, Handbrake, airbag and brake pad sensor.

Next I checked the fuses for the ABS and DSC. Fuse 12, 42 and 53 were missing. I replaced these and checked the others but it made no difference. I tested ABS and DCS at work. ABS definitely not activating and it's still far too easy to get the back end out and I'm wheel spinning quite a bit.

I used a friend's OBD2 scanner and Torque on Android and I only have 2 alarms popping up.

P0369: Camshaft Position Sensor "B" Circuit Intermittent (Bank 1)
P0500: Vehicle Speed Sensor

I will purchase a new Camshaft Position Sensor and a wheel sensor after I narrow it down and get a rough idea what the hell is going on. The ABS module is present. Going to check various parts of the harness tomorrow. But I'm here to see if anyone has any suggestions on where to start? I will purchase new clocks/check these clocks to see the extent of the light tampering.

Thanks for taking the time to read.

Yes,I think that when you replace the wheel speed sensor and reset it, the problem will be fixed.

Handy reading that camshaft sensor fault before it failed though!
