Schumacher
Did you replace it with an OE or aftermarket unit? I've found the aftermarket ones just don't last.
mastacrx
Aftermarket. It was SKF one.
Schumacher
SKFs have a plastic/composite impeller so it should be ok? Fitted a Kolbenschmidt from C3 BMW, lasted ~23k miles before it failed. Then fitted a Meyle, that failed too. It's the ones with a metal impeller that wear out the bearing causing premature failure. Nidec GPM and Saleri (OE for Ferrari) are OE suppliers to BMW. Nidec only sell direct to BMW so bought a Saleri with a composite impeller.
mastacrx
In my previous E39 I fitted one with the metal impeller and the bearing failed after 40 000 miles. Can't remember the make tbh. I know SKF does good bearings though.
Schumacher
Hopefully the SKF will be ok. I just got tired of changing mine hence why I went OE. mastacrx
