McPikie
I have the manual, non heated alcantara trim in my e46 saloon. Drivers bolster is ripped. If I can buy a passenger seat that is unripped, can I just swap the back rest part of the seat over, or can I just swap the bases/rails out? Schumacher
Yes, you can. Remove current seat back and base from the frame/rail and fit the new ones on. You could just swap the covers but it's not much more work to do the entire thing. Another option... have you spoken to a seat upholsterer? Sometimes they can work wonders. McPikie
That's cool then, so it's going to be like 4 bolts to swap it?
Schumacher
No, it's more involved than that. The photos on the following thread will give you a better idea: https://www.e46fanatics.com/threads/oem-front-driver-passenger-seat-swap.1109646/
McPikie
Yeah, I think I will just get my felt tip pen out and colour in the rip lol
Schumacher
Haha. Honestly, it looks more difficult than it is. Once you've unbolted the seat and flip it over, you'll realise it's fairly simple.
