TheStickMan
Assuming a lot of you have had to do this at one time or another, but i'm trying to ascertain what part has snuffed it?In short my passenger side main headlight has stopped firing (e46 300ci m-sport 2004). From the video i've attached, is this likely to be the bulb the ballast or the igniter? Any info on what it likely is, and where to source the part from would be amazing! https://youtu.be/PseZY7tFvI0 Edited January 4, 2021 by TheStickMan
incredirog
when my after market HIDs did this it was a faulty cable connector. could be worth checking they’re all nice and dry and clean before throwing parts at it. good luck! TheStickMan
Thanks, i've tested the cables and given them all a good tug and push and the issue stays the same. I was thinking that because the bulb still flickers that it may be the ballast at fault? Anyone had to deal with?
incredirog
fault finding rather than knowledge, I would swap parts from the good side over and see which bit is faulty that way. momo
TheStickMan
I hear you, Obviously with the weather like it is, the light levels being crap and fault finding these parts being fiddly i wanted to hedge my bets as much as possible before messing about with it too much, i cant risk creating taking the car out of action for days on end either due to the pandemic and needing to stay mobile for others etc.
incredirog
just in case no one else can help, might be worth finding an hour or so of day light to figure it out 🤷🏻♂️
TheStickMan
Thanks inredirog. Appreciate you taking the time. Tomorrow i'll try and move the bulb over from the working one and see whether i have any joy. Do you know if any of the ODB2 dongles would throw an error on ballasts and bulbs being bad?
