  1. I have upon trying to fix a indicator led on my dash broke the Rev needle on putting back together, is stiff and now won’t work, so think I need to get a second hand speedo off eBay, my current speedo is a motometer, cars a 1999, upon swapping, what do I need to do to get back to how was, mileage, no tamper dot etc, can it be done or have I opened a can of worms of hassle

Right brief history Expansion tank exploded at 150k on original tank Replaced with behr tank, all was good Radiator leaked, replaced Then replacement tank started to leak from the bottom, reseated many times but didn’t feel right Replaced with new behr tank All was good but now leaking again So am I doing something wrong or do I need to replace the bracket that it seats on to Many thanks Any suggestions Also replaced just new cap and thermostat not long ago when stuck open Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

When every I go over rough road or speed bumps the steering wheel judders and makes a knocking sound, I checked the coupler and doesn’t move much but the column does as it enters the firewall, looking at the steering column there seems to be quite a bit of movement, could it still be the coupler, how much movement is normal, I have the more expensive version of the coupler so don’t want to replace if not the cause Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

After last months expansion tank explosion, something again is badly leaking, not quite as bad and won’t know until tomorrow but Instead of waiting to be towed home I drove it, only 1 and half miles and stopped four times to let cool down and refill as not leaking as bad as before but not once did it go in the red, came close , very close but stopped before it did and red temp light come on Have I been stupid or will I get away with it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

After finishing the ccv and being rather pleased, the last thing I expected was the car to be worse than when started, I even went over everything but now think the fact it had fell behind the alternator didn’t help, so many things still todo like vanos seals etc, looking forward to the fun mods, like m sport bumpers etc but essentially maintenance must come first, though weather not enticing now to work on cars ! Doh! ccv finished off by torch and when pluggin the wires in, I traced all wires coming from box and the inlet cam wire that goes to box had fell behind alternator, here’s me checking exhaust cam sensor as also unplugged that with thermostat connector etc to give me more room but as couldn’t see the inlet cable, and getting my cam sensors mixed up, what can I say, tiredness makes you stupid lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  12. Did the ccv today, hands sore now but got it done but I screwed up on something because.. Now struggling to start unless I put foot on accelerator and though drives, feels slower and not as responsive/quick as before. The throttle body is drive by cable, so not sure if I did something wrong reassembling, there is a screw adjustment, could I have disturbed that, also struggled to put icv back in, felt like was not in far enough, any ideas what I could have not put back properly? Learning as I go but days like today make me frustrated with the car and doubting my abilities [emoji25] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Well last week my expansion tank blew up, to be fair it’s the original since 1999 so was about time, I replaced it and the cooler thermostat, also drained and bleed system but now am getting coolant light on intermittent, I have since topped up a little twice, so maybe I bleed wrong or leak. Initially after installing tank and filling it , it was leaking out the top smaller hose, so fixed that on properly before bleeding but could still be leaking. Haven’t tested the sensor yet but since was original tank, could be original sensor Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Though car is back on the road, it stood for 3 years and in that time the arches started to bubble. One side is worse than the other. Though I plan on keeping the car along time, budget and being realistic I won’t be getting the rear arches cut and replaced, so who has faced this and had it repaired, how did it go and how much? The reverse camera is can bus triggered, I think the issue is lack of power from reverse light as now working but your right, you get what you pay for and both shall be removed for better cameras, though struggling to find better options at the moment, the reverse not so bothered about picture quality but the one I have is fixed and angle is too low, the front camera is where quality is more important to me. That said I am using eBay to source and though their are more expensive ones, not sure if quality is better, aka there just more expensive of what I have but different packaging. It seems easy to fine standalone cameras that are good quality but not usb ones for my head unit. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
