Leather Dye Colours

Recommended Posts

Has to be either white or red against the dolphin grey.

Black would also work, and is the safe bet, but a little too boring for your car.

The problem with Red is, you need to get the shade dead on. Too dark or too light and it'll look too out of place.

Really liking the two tone idea.... makes it look like a high spec individual.

Pablo,

Hi George,

For some reason i didnt get a notification on your PM and was prompted my your message though the site.

Sorry about this.

Regarding changing colour.

The grey leather in the e24, its not a dark grey., what i would call a meduim grey.

So i would think that you can go lighter with no issues, darker is no problem at all.

At the momment i dont have any cinnamon sample left to match a dye to, so im unable to provide this colour. The rest isnt a probelm.

To change the colour you would need a slightly different type of dye, its just got the sealers seporate which you add on top of the colour you have applied it.

The colour will stay tacky until the sealer is applied, but because its twice as concentrated, you only need to add half the amount meaning that you should not loose the grain look in the leather by applying to much which can happen with the standard dye.

All colours will dye ok, if your going lighter then you will have to add more coats. Ive just dyed an BMW e9 rear armrest from dark blue to bmw e90 Cream beige and its come out great.

I dont have colour charts as there are hundered of colour to choose from. Best to look around the internet to get an idea. Again, you can pick anything from the BMW page on our site, even an individual colour (as long as we have it) or look at a Ferrari colour or Porsche...up to you

Depending on what colour you go for you could do with eitehr 1 litre (darker colours used less ) up to 1.5-2 litres for a light colour.

Also the amount debends on how many layers you apply but i generally say 1 litre will cover most interiors but not a Rolls Royce size interior

You can dye the headlining the same if its vinly yes

1 litre dye…the colour you want to change the seats too

sealant… this applied on top of the colour to seal it or it will stay tacky

250ml cleaner… the seats need to be thoroughly clean before applying the dye

250ml conditioner …again, this will need to be added to soften the seat before the dye is added as it will not soak through the dye once applied

3 cleaning cloths…to be used for prepping the seats

1 scrubbing brush …again, for prepping the seats to remove all the ground in dirt…

I want cinammon brown in mione so much! Might see if I can pick up a cheap leather interior.

Can someone do this for you ?

They can, but I dread to think how much they'd charge.
