Too Good To Be True ?

Recommended Posts

So i posted last week about these wheels asking what they were etc ,

I have now been in contact with the seller and we have agreed to do a straight swap and meet up half way between the both of us,

sounds good eh he's willing to swap those wheels in 19" for my rather ropey 17" Alpina reps which are in a sorry state..

But im starting to think theres something up ,, to be fair he has said they all need new tyres as none are legal.

i have already made it clear that

A,mine are reps

B, there ropey (kerbed and badly painted)

C, no centre caps..

D, budget tyres on the front and mismatched rears Although all have very good tread.

So my worry is in short that maybe his wheels are buckled and he's not saying, they are cracked or nicked or something else unsavory.

I know i shouldnt look a gift horse in the mouth and all that but something has me unsettled about the whole deal..

WWUD ?

Anyone who's willing to swap for those dodgy black wheels must have a few screws loose

If it sounds too good to be true?! It normally is... If you plan to go still, don't go alone! Best to stay safe..

Both of these thoughts have crossed my mind although i cant see any-one wanting to do some-one over for these cr4ppy wheels,

Maybe he's sick of a harsh ride and they tyres maybe screwed.

Its not that much of a bad deal - go for it - not much to loose maybe a few quid in fuel

Tyres are indeed shot, and maybe he does have a screw loose, after all i bought these in the first place lol

Just got back after the mandatory burger stop,

but i think all is well as the guy still had them on his car when i got there and the car looked pretty tidy so i dont think they will be buggered..

Iv yet to see them in any decent light but at least two of the tyres looked like they had a 3-4mm of tread left too.. result !

chucked them in the garge pic,

Did you ask him why he wanted to swap?

or did you just act cool and hope he didnt realise what a fool he was - load up the wheels and get out of there as quick as possible?

the later, he was a very big dude and i didnt wana push my luck..
