Dynavin Clone Group Buy (Enco B046 / B146)

Recommended Posts

Hi,

The first thing I'd suggest on this thread is everyone who's interested puts their name down in a list! The risk is always high in threads like these that at around 50% of the 'im in' and 'im interested' guys will not pay up at crunch time. So the ones who do pay up might have the manufacturer not agree to the discounted price if half the people don't pay up. The group buy does need more organising in order to have a chance of being successful !

s1monove - most reputable car hifi installer places don't really want to fit cheap chinese made electronics like this as there's often variances in quality and physical dimensions meaning all sorts of fitting issues and problems. They, just like you don't want to be ruining anything either as you'd then ask them to replace everything at their cost! There's probably some specialists who will do the work, but I'd guess they'd say that they'll not offer a guarantee or, if something goes wrong with the unit that they'll charge you labour for removing the unit as well. The simple reason is that for those of us in business, cheap chinese electronic items are often more hassle than they're worth compared to premium brand electronics which have much better quality and sales and backup services and channels.

This is why all the cheap chinese units are sold mainly on ebay by people out of their bedrooms, so fitting most likely will come down to a DIY. Perhaps an E46 zone group fitting day should also be organised by anyone/those who know how ?!

Cheers, Dennis!

Does anyone know of any reputable fitters for this in the North West area? I dont fancy getting involved and ruining both the unit and my interior trim!

Cheers

Where are you based?

Thanks Dennis. I think i'll take the chance at £350 odd , unless the fitting is extortionate!! After all, it'll be on my credit card, so its not real cash anyway..!

I'm based in Manchester. If you came to me I would do it for £50.

Not sure if it's been mentioned on here as its a long thread, but you will also need to get the heater relocation panel......

Hi guys. Having bought a similar unit and put it in my E39 a few questions :

1. Is the radio reception as good as the original BMW'S?

2. Does the RDS actually work?

3. At night will the unit auto dim when it gets dark?

4. Can you control the unit from the steeringwheel like you can with the original unit?

5.. Can you turn off the screen completely at night, the bright glowing screen in your cab cab be a distraction.

6. How easy is it to update the Sat Nav software and the units software? Can you use other sat nav systems e.g iGo etc?

7. If you get a bad unit do you have to send it back to China? and at YOUR cost? Do you get a replacement while you wait and how long will you have to wait?

8. How much to get it installed?

9. Can you connect up a rear view cam to it?

10. Will it connect to and work with the 6 disc muliti cd player in the boot?

11. What is the TV reception like?

Not trying to be a damp squid, honest! But I had all these problems with my system. I spent months sorting things out.

I think Dennis will remember me :)

Hi guys. Having bought a similar unit and put it in my E39 a few questions :

Ill answer a few of those:

1. Is the radio reception as good as the original BMW'S?

No issues reported.

2. Does the RDS actually work?

According to people who have bought over at fanatics, yep

3. At night will the unit auto dim when it gets dark?

No auto dim, but one touch dimming.

4. Can you control the unit from the steeringwheel like you can with the original unit?

Yep, Canbus enabled.

5.. Can you turn off the screen completely at night, the bright glowing screen in your cab cab be a distraction.

Yep, one touch

6. How easy is it to update the Sat Nav software and the units software? Can you use other sat nav systems e.g iGo etc?

Runs any android sat nav software readily available from android marketplace

7. If you get a bad unit do you have to send it back to China? and at YOUR cost? Do you get a replacement while you wait and how long will you have to wait?

manufacturer tests all units before dispatch to international dests. If unit goes faulty, they will arrange collection.

8. How much to get it installed?

You need to pay someone else to install?

9. Can you connect up a rear view cam to it?

Yeah, wired or wireless. auto switches in reverse.

10. Will it connect to and work with the 6 disc muliti cd player in the boot?

6 disc changer becomes redundant. Internal memory can hold 10 CD's (it rips them direct to the unit)

11. What is the TV reception like?

Pretty good, reportedly from other buyers, but as with even the official BMW unit, its a portable TV. Its never gonna be sky hd.

You don't *need* to but it'll look better. Heater fits in space left by sunglasses holder.

My that was a quick response. :) Must admit been dithering regarding buying a E46 because I cannot find one with sat nav. Shame it wont use the 6CD changer in boot. Will have to see how all you guys get on :)

Thanks for the replies.

Hi Frankc!

Tongue in cheek - seems you've not learned your lesson from the first time around ! ;)

All in seriousness, and from the response you've already had citing other feedback, hopefully if you do get this unit (as with anyone else as well!) it'll arrive to you in fully working order and functionality.

I do recall you having all sorts of issues with the Hualingan you had, and I think they no longer exist as well so warranty isn't exactly something to rely on with more of these 'clone' type units. Still, never know, this one may well be the one that has had all the issues sorted, is built well and works well from the get go!... time will tell :)

Good luck !

Cheers, Dennis!
