Dsport
I was never quite settled with the 325 just wasnt happy with the fuel economy against the power, especially with one of my mates has a 330 and is getting same mpg, and has alot more power, Id had the injectors flushed and the throtte response reset, but still wasnt happy, thinking I could go faster for the same money, So Ive sold the 325. As it seems to be a buyers market at the moment Im thinking of a 330 6 speed, or a 320d with a remap then Ive got the best of both worlds jsut need a few opinions on the 330 as I was doing an average of 28 mpg and was ok with that can I get this from a 330? as reviews show almost the same Mpg
suhail97
Get a 330d remapped, They get similar mpg to the 320d and cost not much more to insure.

B0B
It's not just mpg though, it's insurance too (not sure about road tax). I normally get between 30 to 33 depending on my mood, with a mix of town and b roads and a small amount of dual carriageway. Even at 2 mpg better, that adds up to 20 miles a tank and at a thankful a week that's over a thousand miles in a year that would be free. I drive a 325 for the same reason I ride a gixxer 750 and not the 1000. It's IMO just as much fun, a great balance of size to power, cheaper and I can use more of its power more often (hope that makes sense). Your choice at the end of the day chap and whatever you go you will still have a cracking car.
Colossuss
I get 32mpg if I commute by motorway (50 mile round trip each day), I can get 28mpg commuting via the countryside but most of the time I get 24mpg
RickyZ
330Cd would be the best choice but my god they re expensive
Wash
I'd say definitely go for the 330Cd! You can remap them with good gains and come resale time, the diesels will hold their value better in the current climate too.
harry1888
Iv got 40+mpg out my 330 on a dual carriage way although the obc read 34.4 i worked it out on paper! How sad i know! Lol As for town driving, well anything in between 24 to 30+ jst depends on how heavy ur foot is Had a 325 before this 330 and fuel economy is almost identical , but obviously power wise the 330 gives u so much more

simonlpearce
If you got bored of the 325 petrol then id say your likely to get bored with a mapped 330d. Stick your money on an E36 M3 and be done with it, much more fun, cost about the same and lots lots faster!
Rich_D
If you got bored of the 325 petrol then id say your likely to get bored with a mapped 330d. I disagree A remapped 330d has double the torque and a lot more power, it will leave a 325 for dead, but still give decent mpg, which is one of the OP's requirements. His main gripe was the fact that the 325 is not that quick and gives poor mpg
Jay.
I know your only after spending simmlar money to the 325 Daz, so i'd deffo say get a 330ci - i avarage 25 but that is 6 mile a day through a city centre so i'd get a 330ci if i were you - you'd be more happy with the power as i thought it was a big jump back to the 330. Dsport
What's your budget? Im only wanting to spend up to 5k but but could go to 6k but dont want to spend anymore If you got bored of the 325 petrol then id say your likely to get bored with a mapped 330d. Stick your money on an E36 M3 and be done with it, much more fun, cost about the same and lots lots faster! Its not I was bored with the power it was the lack of power against the fuel, you can go faster and further in a 330 I disagree A remapped 330d has double the torque and a lot more power, it will leave a 325 for dead, but still give decent mpg, which is one of the OP's requirements. His main gripe was the fact that the 325 is not that quick and gives poor mpg spot on Ive got some feelers out on a 330 through trade I know your only after spending simmlar money to the 325 Daz, so i'd deffo say get a 330ci - i avarage 25 but that is 6 mile a day through a city centre so i'd get a 330ci if i were you - you'd be more happy with the power as i thought it was a big jump back to the 330. Wish id have hung on for a 330 but dont regret the 325 its got me back into driving mode Yes but its still a stinky oil burning diesel which only revs to about 4k and sounds like s**t. I dont mind the smell if Ive got a bit left over for a pint I get 30mpg from 330cd and I'm a little heavy on the right foot.
