autosri
think im close to needing some tyres soon just running the normal sizes 225/40/18 and 255/35/18 im on falken 452s im happy with the grip level and performance wear rate isnt great but thats kinda to be expected one thing i noticed recently after going out for a run in my mates 330 was how much less tyre noise his had than mine so was thinking seeing as i need new tyres thats a good place to start im not willing to chuck 200 quid per tyre as i personaly dont belive they are worth it but on the other end im not happy putting 60 quid per corner on either so the falkens and the vredesteins fall into a resonable price range what you recon guys
arry
Which Vreds are you talking about? Surprised at your comment around wear rates on the 452's - I've still got bucket loads of tread on mine and they've done some fairly serious mileage. Daz 330 Cs
I've Heard many people on here say the 452s don't last that long, I prefer to pay a bit more, knowing they'll last longer Just fitted a pair of Dunlop Sp sport max on the rears and they're a damn good tyre Edited April 10, 2012 by Daz 330 Cs
autosri
It's these ones I'm looking at http://www.camskill.co.uk/m61b0s22p12436/VREDESTEIN_TYRES_CAR_VREDESTEIN_ULTRAC_SESSANTA_-_255_35R18_94Y_XL_TL_ I don't mind spending money I just don't want to feel ripped off just paying for a name
Mikey
Well a lot of the guys on Cutters swear by these so fairly sure these will be a good choice. Not experienced them personally but only heard good things.

autosri
The rears are wearing okay there is still a couple of mm above the wear marks the fronts still have about 3mm above the marks on the outer edges but due to the 2.5 degrees neg camber the inner edges are near the markers so was planning on getting a pair this month and a pair next month but they have to match
rick323
i like the tread pattern on them vred's, i want some, haha. got 4 brand new Toyo T1R's to burn through yet though

I've just checked my bills - the rears have done ~14k and fronts ~11k, both sets are nowhere near being replaced, I'd guess at least 4mm left in them at the moment. All of my tyres wear evenly, because I'm obsessed with alignment.
autosri
I don't like running un matched sets of tyres can't be good for handling If I'm honest I have no idea what mileage is on the tyres its not my day to day car so not that bothered Mine is aligned to my own specs much more aggressive handling than BMW specs Edited April 10, 2012 by autosri
Gaijiniji
Ive got a set of Vredestein ULTRAC SESSANTA and think they are pretty awesome. I got all four for around £500 from camskill and got them fitted for £50. Grippy in both dry and wet and not much in the way of noise. Depending on wear (ive done about 4k on mine so far and still looking good) ill buy them again.
rick323
Has anyone experienced them in the wet? the Toyo T1R's on mine and that ive had on previous cars have been pretty good in the wet and excellent in the dry, but wear down quicker than average. EDIT: just seen above haha. Edited April 10, 2012 by rick323
arry
Has anyone experienced them in the wet? The Vreds? Yes, they're grippy enough, with good feedback. Not AMAZING but certainly nothing dangerous.
Jay.
I've had a pair of these on the front of the csl reps. I'd say very simmlar grip to the fk452s but the tread pattern & side walls are really nice (if your into that sort of thing!)

momo
Just looked at Camskill - Fronts - £78 for FK452 or £108 for Vred's. Rears - £121 for FK452 or £130 for Vreds. Price difference on the rear isn't so bad but the fronts! £30 a tyre? If you bought a set of Falkens you'd still have enough spare cash for a spare tyre! Are they really worth that price difference? rick323
in that case then from what people have mention from personal experience using the tyres, you might awell get falkens again...
