sive s
My car is now a fully working donut making machine just picked up the car from it's second home after having the quaife LSD equipped diff fitted, tried a few gentle slides on some empty roundabouts to make sure i wasn't ripped off lol had to be very gentle though my last three cars have had open diffs, well out of practice!! the diff is silent, not tried reverse turning yet, it gives a little more with dsc on, and is very responsive to the throttle when you ease off I now have a full original final drive to sell if you want to do a quaife install with birds without having to go there, my garage charged 3 hours but they had to swap the unit over, they had to swap the drive flanges over even though it was the same part number bought from quarry motors :S Interested in this. As i plan to get one fitted from them. When mine goes. Cannockwolf
Cannockwolf
is yours on the way out then mate? wouldnt it be cheaper to get a second hand one from quarry motors?
sive s
is yours on the way out then mate? wouldnt it be cheaper to get a second hand one from quarry motors? Yeah it looks like it is. Issue is that second hand ones can be the same. Even if you rebuild it. The usual grinding will be there. Even tho quaife one is expensive. It will handle more power ( supercharger route). Also won't have the usual issues as the standard e46 m3 one. Heard the e36 EVO lsd can be fitted to the e46 m3. Supposed to cure the issue too. Cannockwolf
well i can tell you its silent, reversing while turning tight corners i think shows it up most and it has no noise, im happy with the limited use its had so far edit, no pun intended lol Edited June 2, 2015 by Cannockwolf sive s

Cannockwolf
after reading loads this one seemed to be the best for road use, there are a lot of them around, all good, but i felt were were more suited to track/road cars, while im sure this can be used on the track as well i wanted to keep the car feeling oem hence the reason ripping out the ssk bushing it wasnt good for the road, Also Birds had an excellent reputation and i could just ship a diff to them and get it returned by courier, then i got it fitted at my own leisure, swapping the whole final drive out was nothing for my garage so no risks there either and birds can swap the internals over with their eyes closed now. Cannockwolf
As some of you may know my intention was to change the look with alternative parts i have collected over the build, just to keep things fresh and swap and change when i fancy it. So heres they are BMW 359 reps Gunmetal Grey w/ Michelin PPS Original M3 Diffuser Clear indicators Colour Coded Grilles Edited June 8, 2015 by Cannockwolf Andy_E46, TriggerFish, Ruesta and 10 others

Cannockwolf
its amazing isnt it, just 4 things and it looks like another car, i wanted a deep concave set of wheels, this was the best i could get without having to change the suspension setup, J9.5 fronts and J10 rear, the fronts are mm's away from the suspension screw nut, it is the bottom one supposed to be at the base of the strut thread or locking up against the middle one? the bottom green one in this pic from last year

momo
Much better! Was never a fan of the Orange indicators.. It'd look better with the CSL diffuser but understand why it's not on there.. Cannockwolf

bennno2005
Looks fantastic but I think I must be in the minority who thought it was perfect before with the normal grille and ambers. Rob- and Cannockwolf
